Topic: RE: 5 1/2 weeks out from TT
I'm thrilled with the results. The swelling has gone down even more and it looks even better! I was self pay (about $8000). I had been at goal for about 6 months (dropped about 5 more after the tt). But my plastic surgeon told me if I had come in sooner (re a little heavier) she would have had 'something to make me a butt with'. It couldn't hurt to see the plastic surgeon and ask his/her opinion. Usually if the only fat you have left is in your tummy they can remove it during the tt, but they at least want your weight to be stable for at least 3 months. Don't mind the ?s at all. Check out the plastic surgery forum http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/plasticsurgery/a,messageboard/board_id,4861/ there's a lot of good info there. Carolyn

Thanks for sharing your pics. It looks like your incision has healed up nicely. Are you pleased with the results? Did you have to self pay or was it covered on insurance? You look fantastic - great flat tummy I'm sure by now you are looking even better. Did you wait til you reached goal, or are you still trying to lose? I'm trying to decide whether to go see my doctor now or wait. I'm 10lbs off normal bmi and about 30lbs off my ultimate goal (although I'm not sure if that is unrealistic or not). My tummy still has fat on it - it isn't an empty flap of skin (sorry tmi), so not sure whether to wait til I've lost more or not. How much weight did you lose by having your TT? Hope you don't mind all the questions.... Ruth

Hi I technically belong on the May 06 board but was just checking this one out to see how you all are (as I'm May 31st!!) and I HAD to say WOOHOOOOOO!!!!! Way to go - good for you. You must feel elated. There's a friend on the May 06 board that has got into running - you may want to hook up with her - Deanna. She last posted on the I'm sad post if you want to contact her. She is a real inspiration and inspires me to get into running Well done anyway, for running 10K That is fantastic!!

Topic: RE: Just checking to see how the June buddies are doing?
I havent had any complications since surgery In August I had a burning pain in what felt like my old stomach that turned out to be stress related acid relux... a few days of prevacid cleared it up and I have been fine since.. thats really been the only things. The company I worked for closed so I lost my BCBS insurance (which I loved) now I am getting ready to start with Cigna... and the plan excludes any and everything relating to WLS - all my follow ups and plastics... its hard to be on such a crappy plan after comming from such a great one. I am down 134lbs total, 98lbs since surgery... I am 1lb below my personal goal and still plan on losing a little more weight. I want to hit 100lbs lost since surgery mark as well as give myself a some wiggle room incase that 10% regain hits me... the highest I can weigh for my weight and be a normal BMI is 157 so I am aiming for 150 currently... the lowest I would go is 145 (PS said I shouldnt weigh less than that because I would be reaaaaalllyy small after surgery... I dont want to be a twiglet!!). Thats pretty much about it... its amazing what changes the past 1.4 years have brought and I am loving every minute of it!

Topic: RE: June 06 Lapbanders out there?
Hello - I was banded on June 22, 2006. It has been a slow journey for me - I'm down 70 pounds and just recently had to be unfilled. They think I had something stuck in my band that irritated my stomach. I couldn't even ge****er down - was very scary and I felt awful. I have been unfilled for almost a week now and being so careful with food. I don't want to gain anything back. I have to go back in 2 weeks for a fill again - I am hoping to get back into a routine and start loosing again!! Good luck to you!!

Halloween is almost here and the thought of the candy in the house is never racking. I am not going to get it until closer. I was wondering did any of you develope a hernia? I had 2 of them and had them taken care of on Sept 25th 07. They had to open my old RNY scare and do it that way so.. There I was with 25 staples again. Yikes. Oh well its getting better. I got denied for plastics and thought with having the 2 hernias that would of helped but oh well. Just wanted to check in ans see how everyone was doing. I am down 137 pounds and enjoying life. Take care, Debbie Miers 299/162 6/20/06 open RNY

I am struggling and have actually gained some weight...had lots of stomach problems, just don't feel real good. We've had the flu going around so perhaps that is some of my problems. I am usually at 155, down from 320ish, but currently I am at about 158-59; and actually saw 160 again. I don't want to do this again...I need to be careful - very careful! I am so proud of you - 210 lbs is something to brag about!

Topic: RE: How many of you have reached your goal?
My personal goal was about 170 lbs-what i was when I got my wedding dress- i wanted to be able to fit into it again as an ultimate goal, well......i am now at 146 and holding! i do not want to lose any more, so i have adjusted my calories accordingly. my dr set a goal of 149, so yes, i have attained his goal and passed it, though not on purpose, i really cannot afford to lose any more, all skin and bones! what a trip this has been! teri
