JUNE 19th!
I got the call on March 24 that I have a date at Mercy Capitol. That's the good news! The bad news is it's not til June 19. 84 DAYS!! It is nice to have something definitive now, though, but it feels so far away!
I did tell them that I was very flexible and if someone backed out at the last moment that I could get in very quickly thanks to a very flexible work schedule but not for sure if that counts for much or if there is really an opportunity for that to happen.
For now, i am jsut working on dropping the 15 lbs that they want prior to surgery and getting on a good regimen of vitamins and protein. I have also been walking about 50 minutes 5 nights a week (about 3 miles) on our treadmill hoping that will get me in a bit better shape for surgery.
Always welcome to thoughts/encouragement/questions and I look forward to getting more active on the boards closer to my date.
Don't you hate the countdown? Part of me is saying, "Hurry up time; I need to start my new adventure," but part of me is being bogged down with all the details, like medical tests and physicals and (for me) all of the travel concerns, like getting a visa, and wiring money to the hospital, and figuring out what I'll be packing (over two weeks in Brazil), etc.
A little overwhelming.
Sounds like you're being really responsible with the vitamins and an exercise program. I'd like to do so myself, and I have a gym membership. But I hate being heavy and going to a gym!! I feel like I stand out like a sore thumb.
What a dichotomy!
VERY BEST WISHES! Lisa
Hello Blake; We have the same surgery date. I'm scheduled for June 19th also. I wi**** was tomorrow. Are you having it done laproscopically or open? I'm having it done laproscopically. Wishing you the best. We'll have to keep eachother posted on our progress before and after surgery because I'm trying to loose 15 lbs before surgery also.
Good Luck
