I had my GB R&Y on June 13, 2006. I have lost 92 pounds since surgery and would like to lose another 25. I, like most of you have posted have stalled and haven't lost for the past month. How many calories are you eating a day? I hit and miss with my exercise, have had the munchies and seem to be really thirsty all the time. any ideas for breaking the stall other than getting better about exercise?

Welcome back. I would say drink more water - especially if you are thirsty. I've been eating 1200-1400 calories (if I'm writing every thing down correctly) so I know that's the reason for my stalling. My exercise/walking has been consistent and I've upped it and noticed some small weight losses. I think you have to go back to the old rules to break the stall -- increase protein, increase water, increase exercise, take your vitamins, decrease carbs. Good luck!

I am to have 800-100 calories/40-60g protein/60-80g carbs. I started to log what I eat this week and started with the trainer last week. Found with my eating I was doing decent... getting way more protein than required (im usually around 80g) but the carbs are sometimes high, sometimes low so I am going to work on that! Exercise is very important... its hard to get started but its a necessity!! I think to break a stall you need to look at calories in vs calories out and exercise definately helps calories out. Making sure you are not eating too much and eating enough and watching those carbs and getting a lot of protein will help as well!

Welcome Gloria- Always glad to see new June bugs posting. It sounds like you have done a good job with the weight loss. I think we all are at the point where we are comfortable with our pouches and venture into foods that we know we should not be eating. I know I have. I also have discovered that if I go back to what I know I should be doing I can still lose 10lbs a month. So I really believe it is true about working our "tool". Your saying you are always thirsty is making me a little worried. Did you have diabetes before? You might want to give the dr a call and explain what is happening. You might have a little imbalance somewhere that needs to be corrected. Better safe than sorry. Of course it could be something little like you are eating foods that make you thirsty. Well I am off to do the treadmill. Have a great weekend. Michelle
