Weight loss to date?
Hello all. Since we are all about the surgery date on this board I was wondering how much weight has been lost to date? My surgery date was June 9 and I am down 111 lbs. Is this typical for any of you others? I also find I seem to nibble all the time now if I am not drinking. I push protein first and still try to avoid starches but seem to get hungry now. Any suggestions?
120 lbs since initial consultation...surgery June 8th. Its been a long haul and yea I'm having more difficulty with eating lately. I'm still trying to figure out how to eat best...eat, fill up, and not be hungry in an hour. I teach so its hard to get the water and vitamins in like I should - and to eat slowly and correctly. I know - making excuses - but regardless of how difficult it is, I am really working on doing it right! I am determined not to make the same mistakes I've made before...but it is really hard. Good luck...
I am down 137 since initial appt and 120 since surgery, i too, concentrate on proteins. i drink 3 a day and eat 3 small meals also, this usually keeps me from getting overly hungry, and is the way my dr. said to eat to keep everything on an even keil. you are doing a great job, jus****ch those nibbles, they can add up to too many calories, teri
Hi Ron-
I am down 119lbs. 30lbs is from pre-surgery 6mo classes at Kaiser. I too get hungry and have right from the start. But I fill up fast. I have noticed on some days that I could graze all day long if I let myself. So on those days I try to be extra aware. I have my bad days though and I pay for them at the scale. I aim for way more good days then bad and hope it ends up at a loss at the end of the month.

I am down 102lbs from initial consult and down 66lbs since surgery. Only 31lbs to goal!!!!! Surgery date was 6/20.
As for getting hungry... are you eating enough at each meal? Are you getting in fruits/veggies/fiber??? I have cut out 99% of processed foods and complex carbs. I eat mostly fresh foods and buy only whole grain (not enriched) products. I also stick to my food schedule and try and eat around the same time every day. I have a few snacks around/with me if I know I am going to be running around or busy so I have a back up. My hunger hasnt returned... I will get a little hungry if I go to long without eating. My NUT said because I was eating lean protein, fruits, veggies, whole grains that it was keeping my blood sugar well regulated and the fiber was keeping me fuller longer. I always make sure I am drinking when I shouldnt be eating... people at work thing I am crazy because my desk is littered with different drink bottles.
Oh, man, I have been grazing a lot lately - not-good carbs don't make me feel heavy but contribute to eating more often. I ate roast last night -too much because it was so good and almost vomited. First time in about 3 months.
I've lost 103 pounds, but nothing in the past month (due to my eating I'm sure). Gotta get back on track!
Hi,
Surgery date was June 14 and I have lost 146 lbs. since. I am hungry but found that if I make up a protein drink with the milk and the DiVinci's syrups, this fills me up. I take a lot of vitamins and minerals. I have always been a water drinker but since I discovered freezing crystal lite or similar in a bottle I drink about 90 oz. per day. I am 51 and have severe arthritis in my knees so my mobility is limited for exercise. I would graze all day if I could but have to fight every step of the way. Still find it easier than pre-surgery.
Good talking with all my fellow "June bugs"..

Old habits do die hard, sooooo hard. I too feel the urge to nibble a lot. Nuts fill me up but I am worried about the fat content.
I am down 121 since surgery. I am CRAVING carbs all the time. Arrgh. I have been trying to find better quick protein snacks. I have been taking Profect to up my protein, but honestly, I don't notice a difference if I take it or not. So, my suggestions for you would be platitudes, or at least grossly misplaced, but for my own purposes they are: drink more water, stop eating those damn carbs, and start getting in more protein. But hey, I am probably burning twice as many calories as I was presurgery, and eating much less of everything including carbs, so it is not all hopeless.
Good luck, if you find the magic stop nibbling remedy, don't forget to let us know.
