I don't drink with my meals. I had some bad incidents where it sat heavy and then I burped and out it came,w ith some more. I do drink closer than 30 minutes pre or post. I can eat and then drink something 10 minutes later.

kim this has been one of the major adjustments for me since the surgery. i never drank with my ood but the last few weeks i have been sipping a bit here and there. funny you would mention this. i used to love to drip with my meal but now it's either food or drink but not both. don't beat yourself up over this kim just try to pay close attention and don't even have a drink fixed or by you until shortly after you eat ok. you can do this, you mentioning this reminds me to stop doing it- even just the little sips cause we need our food to sit in our pouches as long as possible. felicia

Hi Kim! I normally do not drink with meals but if I have something that is dry I will take a tiny bit of water enough just to wet my mouth with to save me from gagging. If I take a regular drink I get bloated and uncomfortable and can't eat. I guess the old saying "damn if you do,damn if you don't" applies! I would not feel gulity,do what works for you. Nanc

I don't pour myself anything to drink with my meals, but I will admit that I'll usually take a sip or two of my kids milk after I'm done eating.. just enough to taste it and wash the food down my throat. No more than that though - or I get a tummy ache.
