1.Are you shooting for your doctors goal weight or your own or are they the same?and how far do you have to go to reach it? My doctor's goal was about 145 and I passed that at the end of October. My goal was 130 - 135 and I hit 135 two weeks ago. I'm now 133. 2.What is the hardest part of your jouney that you are experiencing right now? Trying to find a way to maintain. 3.What excercise goals/times are you reaching for on a daily basis? I work out 5 days a week now (I was told to cut back). I do 3 days of walking for an hour and 1/2 and 2 days of lifting with a trainer for an hour each time. 4.Do you listin to music when you work out? if so what is your favorite song/cd's? When I walk alone (not often) I listen to my IPod. It's a very eclectic mix. My favorite walking music is Prince. 5.What are you going to do this year that you have never done before that you wanted to, but could not due to your weight? Well I was planning on learning to snowboard with my son but we're having a really warm winter in the NE and there hasn't been any snow!! 6.Do you ever regret having WLS? Not for a moment!

I want to walk 3 miles in the am and pm 4.Do you listin to music when you work out? if so what is your favorite song/cd's? anything fast, I put my granddaughters MP3 in and listen to I dont know what....but the beat is fast lol. 5.What are you going to do this year that you have never done before that you wanted to, but could not due to your weight? go horseback riding, I have did that before but not in years. 1.Are you shooting for your doctors goal weight or your own or are they the same?and how far do you have to go to reach it? I had to force my doc to talk about goal weights last month. He's of the school of thought that it's up to you and what your body will allow. I'm shooting for 225 because that will make 300 pounds lost. Anything more than that is gravy. 2.What is the hardest part of your jouney that you are experiencing right now? Head hunger. January - April are the months my wife is busiest at work. That means she's got a lot of late night meetings and will need to work after the kids are in bed. That means a lot of alone time for me which has usually meant I eat. I'm not going to do that this year, but it's going to be a struggle to be sure. 3.What excercise goals/times are you reaching for on a daily basis? I'm working on mixing in weight resistance with cardio right now. I'm trying to get in 120 miles of cardio this month. I've got a spreadsheet and am leading a 50 mile/month challenge right now on the men's board. If anyone wants a copy of the spreadsheet lemme know. 4.Do you listin to music when you work out? if so what is your favorite song/cd's? Anything upbeat that I can move to. I've got hip hop/rap/rock/folk/bluegrass on my exersice mix on the old iPod. 5.What are you going to do this year that you have never done before that you wanted to, but could not due to your weight? My goal is to run in a 5K by this fall and to fly coach in an airplane without a seatbelt extender. 6.Do you ever regret having WLS? Not even for a second.

1.Are you shooting for your doctors goal weight or your own or are they the same?and how far do you have to go to reach it? My goal weight is 145. My doctor said it just depends where my body stops. It could be 160 according to him. 2.What is the hardest part of your jouney that you are experiencing right now? I am also having problems with grazing and carbs, so I cleaned house and got rid of the crackers that I was getting into. 3.What excercise goals/times are you reaching for on a daily basis? I do 30 min. on the treadmill every morning, weight training 3 times per week and plan to start attending some cardio classes in the evenings that I don't weight train. 4.Do you listin to music when you work out? if so what is your favorite song/cd's? I watch TV while working out - usually the morning news. 5.What are you going to do this year that you have never done before that you wanted to, but could not due to your weight? I would love to wear a bikini or even a tankini this summer. 6.Do you ever regret having WLS? Never.

Hi Jeanna, Thanks for kicking us off in the New Year. 1.Are you shooting for your doctors goal weight or your own or are they the same?and how far do you have to go to reach it? My doc didn't set a goal weight. So I am shooting for 140, and have 29 pounds to go. I would be thrilled to get lower though. I haven't been below 165 as an adult, 4 pounds from uncharted territory! 2.What is the hardest part of your jouney that you are experiencing right now? Grazing carbs as well. I also have had more energy to bake, which is a no-no for me. I eat the batter. I ate 2 buns worth of bread dough the other day. 3.What excercise goals/times are you reaching for on a daily basis? I am still doing 2 hours of karate twice weekly. On work days, I usually walk to main street, which is only about a 3/4 mile round trip. I am mostly a slug on days off, unless we get into the nearest city to do some shopping or something. Keeping the woodstove happy keeps me a little bit busy. 4.Do you listin to music when you work out? if so what is your favorite song/cd's? I don't listen to music so far, but I would really like to start jogging, and I will probably take my mp3 for that. I like the 70s stuff as well, but I don't mind some pop and R&B stuff mixed in. 5.What are you going to do this year that you have never done before that you wanted to, but could not due to your weight? I want to ski or snowboard. I haven't skied in at least 15 years. I just don't have anyone to go with. 6.Do you ever regret having WLS? Never have. I wish I had done it in my 30s. Happy New Year to you all. Lori

I might want to go further, depends on what my body says. 2.What is the hardest part of your jouney that you are experiencing right now? grazing carbs for me too. 3.What excercise goals/times are you reaching for on a daily basis? I try to walk the dogs daily around the rentention pond at least once daily during the week and up to 4 times on weekends. Working out at the gym with the weights three times a week. 4.Do you listin to music when you work out? if so what is your favorite song/cd's? no - I don't own an MP3 or Ipod. 5.What are you going to do this year that you have never done before that you wanted to, but could not due to your weight? Skiing in March. Hope I'm ready! 6.Do you ever regret having WLS? Wish I had done it sooner.

Nancy- I have been a slacker and haven't started Roll Call yet this year. Thank you so much for starting it. I haven't been inspired on what to write or ask yet and I should at least get on here and babble like I usually do. 1.Are you shooting for your doctors goal weight or your own or are they the same?and how far do you have to go to reach it? I am going for my goal weight, 150. My doctor says about 170-180. Heck no, I want to be a skinny chick for once in my life I still have quite a bit to get to my goal, at least 90 lbs. left to go. UGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! 2.What is the hardest part of your jouney that you are experiencing right now? Girlfriend, I hear you on the grazing carbs! urghhhhhhh......I also fight a vicious fight with the Head Hunger Monster. Does it ever get better?????? 3.What excercise goals/times are you reaching for on a daily basis? My goal is to exercise at least 5 days a week. Most days I am on the treadmill walking/running 2-3 miles, ok, usually it is 2 miles lately. 2 Days a week I lift weights, one of those days with my trainer and then another day I have a group that I run/walk with. I think that is my favorite day, I get the most encouragement and inspiration those days. 4.Do you listin to music when you work out? if so what is your favorite song/cd's? I do listen to music if I am at the gym, actually whatever they usually have on there. When I am on the treadmill at home I watch tv, which winds up being Rachel Ray. Maybe that is part of my problem, running towards that food still 5.What are you going to do this year that you have never done before that you wanted to, but could not due to your weight? I would really love to be able to wear a bikini. I have a ways to go before I can do that, but then again, look how far I have come in the past months, it could very much be possible. I would love to go to an amusement park this summer too. It has been years since I have been because I hated being so embarassed that I would be told I had to get off the rides. 6.Do you ever regret having WLS? NEVER!!! I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!!! Nancy, you are the BEST!!!! We have to get this board moving again, and I will do my part. Jeanna
