~*~*~ THURSDAY ROLL CALL ~*~*~
Ok, I have a very good reason that I did not do Roll Call yeasterday, I was busy with my brand spankin' new niece. She is so gorgeous. I know that I am biased, but she is just an angel . She mom told me that if I was with her throughout the night last night I would have a different opinion, but, they are all just precious angels. Actually most of this week has been on what I refer to as "Baby Watch". I am glad to get back to my normal routine again, but I miss all the excitement.
I have to be honest with all of you, I really don't have questions for this week. I feel kind of like I have let you down. Can you forgive me? Let me see if I can pull together a little something something for us.
1) Do you have any nieces or nephews?
2) Are you an only child? If not, where are you in the birth order? If so, do you ever wish you had any siblings?
3) What is the weather like where you are today?
4) What do you miss most this time of year?
5) Are you a glass is half full or half empty kind of person?
ME:
1) Well, with the addition of Abigail Jeanne (yes, partially named after me), I have 3 nieces and 5 nephews. There is always room for more though (that is what my family keeps telling me).
2) I am not an only child, actually, I am the oldest of 4. I do have a half brother that is older than I am, but we never grew up together, to me, he is more like a distant cousin that I see a couple times a year. I wish we could change that. Anyway, I have a 2 brothers and a sister younger than me.
3) FREAKIN' COLD!!!!! I think the high today was maybe 10 . I can barely stay out there with the dogs, and they barely want to go out there, especially the Chihuahua.
4) I miss the old time tradition. I miss being at my grandma's house on Christmas. It was the most special. I remember just sitting under the tree and being the most content ever. I wish that I could recreate that.
5) Half full of course!!!!!
Ok, so what are your answers. You know I want to hear from you, and yes that means you too Mr. and Ms. Lurker Come one and come all!!!!!
Have a great rest of the week,
Jeanna
I am going to take the time out to answer today so no one thinks I fell off of the face of the earth. I did a mini update on the post asking about Ben and I if anyone is interested.
1) Do you have any nieces or nephews?
2 of my siblings have kids and 2 don't. I have 3 nieces and 1 nephew. My nephew is only 11 years younger than me. I also have lots of step-nieces and nephews from my fathers 2nd and 3rd marriages. I even have a step-grand niece who is just a doll. I got to see her for the first time over Thanksgiving weekend.
2) Are you an only child? If not, where are you in the birth order? If so, do you ever wish you had any siblings?
I am the youngest of 5. 2 older brothers and 2 older sisters. My one sister is only 14mo older than me so I never go that special baby treatment darn it.
3) What is the weather like where you are today?
Sunny but chilly. At least chilly for SoCal. heehee
4) What do you miss most this time of year?
I miss my paternal grandparents old fashioned Christmas decorations. My Grandpa had really cool frosted lights that looked like snowballs. He really enjoyed doing up the livingroom and made it special. He has been gone almost 22 years now. I also miss the homemade candy one of my co-workers used to bring in. A relative of hers made it and it was YUMMY!!!!!!! She passed away a few years ago. The relative not my co-worker.
5) Are you a glass is half full or half empty kind of person?
I am both depending on the situation. I can be very cynical at times. Mostly in being protective of my family.

1) Do you have any nieces or nephews? Yes, quite a few.

5) Are you a glass is half full or half empty kind of person? full

2) I am the youngest of seven biological brothers and sisters: 4 brothers, 2 sisters. My cousin was more like an older sister/mom to me; and her son is only three years younger than me and was raised as my brother. (Crazy family I know).
3) FREAKIN' COLD!!!!! And weird...today it stayed in the single digets and wind chill was below zero most of the day. Then tomorrow it is suppose to be in the 40's and maybe 50's.
4) I miss my mom! She died in Feb. 02 and I miss her each and every day. She was my best friend and my confidant. I miss her desperately

My mom, she passed away 4 years ago and still it seems like I should be shopping for her, I helped her with her shopping every year and it took some time getting the gifts for the family that keeps growing. She got very sick 10 months before she passed away and during that time we swiched roles and I became the mom and she was my baby. I miss her so.

Hi Jeanna and All!
My name is Cathy and I just found this forum yesterday. I have been going to the RNY message boards for many months now and someone mentioned it in a post there. I had Lap RNY on 6-5-06 and just had my 6 month anniversary. I live in Fort Myers Florida but there is a morritorium on the surgery here (a woman died several years ago) so I went to Hollywood Florida to have my surgery with Dr. Bass. He is an excellent surgeon and my surgery went perfectly. I have struggled a bit to follow all the rules (did not get my protein in for a while, still can't drink 64 ounces of water each day, and still do not eat as much as I am supposed to - still do not have a desire for food) so my weight loss is slower than it might have been. But I feel so much better since the surgery and would do it over in a heartbeat.
1) I have three nieces and three nephews. I also have a new great grand niece who was born one week before Thanksgiving - she is so beautiful! Her name is Peyton Alexandra.
2) I am the oldest of four girls. Three of us grew up together and one was a surprise change of life baby for my Mom. She was raised almost as an only child as the rest of us were soon to leave home for college or jobs of our own.
3. It is cool here today in Fort Myers - they say a cold front is moving in. Of course, cold front here means that it gets down into the 50's or less. BRRRRRRR That is cold to my Florida bones!
4) I miss my maternal grandmother. She was the light of my life since my earliest childhood. I used to go to Kentucky to visit her every Christmas and I miss being able to do that now. I wish that I could hold her and kiss her soft cheek just one more time. But I know that she is watching over me from Heaven.
5) I am usually a half full kind of person - almost all of the time
Hope that each of you have a wonderful holiday season and that all your Christmas wishes come true.
Merry Christmas,
Cathy
