Good Morning Everyone! I hope you all had a very nice and blessed weekend! I wanted to post this tip in hopes that it can help get us through the holidays! Every year I do tons of baking and developed a small business (if you want to call it that) I sell cookie and candy baskets, and fill approx 100 to 150 orders I have 141 so far HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!! I make around 50 differnt kinds of cookies and 15-20 candies.now times that by anywhere from 6 to 10 doz each! I started baking on Friday and I tell you it is like waving a big juicy steak at a starving dog!! This is my little way of keeping reality in check! This is what I am doing to survive, take one of your old FAT pictures (the worse one you can find of course, and put it in the kitchen on the fridge with this list of questions...and the next time you reach for that goodie look at that picture, and ask yourself those questions.......... Is this where I want to go again? Do I want to look like this? If you say to yourself I am going to have "just one" can you? I bet not, walk away....... Think about what you have been through and your weight loss to date and I betcha you won't think twice about having that goodie. Be strong! Remember you are worth it! Havng issues dealing with it? COME TO THE BOARD AND VENT AND GET A FEW KICKS IN THE A@@ IF YOU NEED IT!!...lol...... I hope that this can help a little bit! Hang in there everyone a few weeks and it will be over!! Nancy

Wow Nancy. That's a tough situation to be in. I happen to have a picture on my fridge from a Father's Day breakfast at my daughter's school which was a few days before surgery. I don't really recognize myself in that picture right now and definitely don't want to get back to that weight. I guess the best advice I can give is to get through it as quickly as possible and make sure that there isn't any lingering temptation lying about the house for you after you are done with the project. -Daniel

Great idea, Nancy. I just developed some film from the summer. My daughter had a disposable camera that she didn't finish up. Oh, my gosh! In one of the photos, I am in the background - HUGE!!! And the photos were taken about 10 days post surgery. Yikes. I may have to post that photo on my fridge.

Nancy, thank you for the post, my family makes cookies-320 dozen this year, that did not really bother me. wasnt really tempted, BUT, i make about 24 lbs fudge. i made the ghiradelli chocolate walnut Sunday. that about killed me. i told my family they better enjoy it, might be the last time i make it. too much temptation there! i refuse to even taste it. cant go there! I will make the list for my fridge, that is great, teri

Nancy, I feel for you. I still love to bake and have problems not having any "tastes", but we all know it is more than just a taste. I am so glad you posted those questions. I need to ask myself those all the time, not just when I am cooking or baking, but especially when I am bored. I am still tempted and fall to the boredom eating. I need to get past this. We are all worth it, you are right and I know that, but sometimes I need that proverbial "KICK IN THE A$$" too!!! Good luck with the baking, I am going to do some this weekend too. Jeanna
