Hi Girls! Are any of you having problems with your periods? If you remember in July I had such cramps I could not stand it,well I have not had a period since then! going on 5 months! NOT that I miss it!LOL... I talked to the doctor and he said it is VERY normal and could last as much as a year or more due to rapid weight loss, but it will start again,he said the cramps I had were from hormonal changes(I thought there was a tie between the cramps and the absence now he said no way connected which is good thing Just wondering if anyone else was going through this?? this is just weird.............. ((hugs)) Nancy

Mine have been irregular until I went on the Nuva Ring. Now they are closer to clock work but I do miss them from time to time. Your body is in starvation mode so you are probably not ovulating.

Hi Nancy, I am the complete opposite. I get mine like every two weeks, its horrible. I would love to have your problem. Even on the pill I wasn't right so I stopped taking them. I was going to ask my doctor in two weeks at my appt. but he's male and I feel a little funny talking to him about that since he has no idea what I'm going through. I agree with you about the whole thing being weird but I also understand that our bodies are going through alot and it's going to take time for them to adjust. Even though I'm on the other end of the spectrum I hope this helps so your know your not the only one with issues. Hope you have a great day!! Karen

Gosh Karen I went through a few years ago and it is ugly,I feel for you!! I had a DNC done and it stopped. That may be what you need. They do it as an out patient now and it is not painful, just a little cramping afterwards.I would talk to your Dr. so you don't land up with anemia hon. well I guess this is just one of the things we have to deal with until our bodies return to a normal mode Thanks for your replies! ((hugs)) Nancy

Nancy, I would never have thought I could develop anemia but your right. That's why I love this board. I don't respond that much but when I do there is so much great advise. I have my blood work done next week and have an appt. on the 14th so I guess I'll find out how my blood work is then. Thanks for your reponse! Karen

Nancy After the surgery mine became regular(same time of the month) but for the first two months I had the cramps the third month was normal. The last month I did not have one, I had where I felt like I was going to start on the regular day but all I did was spot. I have an appt on the 19th and was going to ask questions then. G

I had not had a period for years before surgery.. my PCP said due to Birth control pills. I went off of them before surgery and now I have my regular crampy periods back. A bit heavier than I remember and the first few days I just want a heating pad and my pj's. I am thankful, however that the only thing I am taking right now is vitamins!!! No more birth control (which is sorta nice putting the responsibility on the hubby for a while!).. no blood pressure meds, no anxiety meds, no anti-depressents, no reflux meds.. it's great! Blessings, Kim

Nancy, I have problems with my period..but not the same kind of problems. I have had very irreguar periods. The first two after surgery were very spotty and had it for 2 days...than nothing...then got it again...stop...go. The third one was crampy, and heavy. The next one was hard and heavy for the first couple days, then went on for almost 10 days, but not heavy like the first two days. This past one lasted for 7-8 days...spotty at first, heavy, heavy, heavy, and then spotty. I have also experienced more PMS than ever. About a week prior to my period, I am depressed and want to eat - everything and anything. That lasts about 3 days. Then I get almost giddy and lose about 3 pounds, then comes the period. I feel like I am losing it. I don't go to doctor until Dec. 28th -maybe it will be straightened out by then. It is good to know others are experiencing problems also. I was starting to worry. I love this site just to compare notes and talk to others who are in the same ship as I am. LOL ... Ride free and happy.

I was on the depo shot... was due for another one in July. A few weeks after surgery I started spotting (I was on the depo shot for 2 years! Never spotted). After that each month I was getting PMS (sometimes cramps, tender breasts) for a few days... no period or spotting. I havent had PMS in YEARS! It was BAD PMS too - I was SUPER *****y!! Last month I started on Oral BC and since then things Ive seemed to be ok... hopefully it will stay this way!
