I don't like pizza anymore!
Pizza was my absolute favorite food before surgery. I could eat an entire small supreme pizza from the pizza shop by myself! I've been trying it every once in a while the last couple of months, and I've decided it's just not worth it. I'd rather have some meat and cooked vegetables. How's that for a switch? Does anyone else notice their tasted have changed? What don't you like anymore?

Yep, everything that I used to like only sounds good in theory. when I get it, it just doesn't hold up to the memory of it. I used to LOVE Chinese LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Now it's just "okay" at best... usually stick to the sizzeling rice soup and that's it. Pizza.. I get SUCH a craving for it..then I just pick a little bit and end up throwing most of the slice away. I still love my salads though.. and I tolerate steak a lot better than poultry..go figure. So I nice 6 oz fillet (which i usually eat 2 oz. of ) and a little veggies or a small salad usually hits the spot with me. oh.. and I cannot eat enough mandrin orange pieces..yum yum yum. But most of my old favorites just don't do it for me anymore.
One thing I do get a craving for now that I never really did before is Doritos!! Of course it couldn't be something healthy.. but some days I just need a few cheesy doritos.. never cared much for chips before surgery.

When I read your post, my first thought was...Oh I could only dream of not liking pizza anymore. But then on further reflection, the last few times I had it it wasn't that great and I only had a few nibbles of each piece. Same with Chinese food. Now if I could get a hate on for sugars, I'd be laughing.

I agree, Pizza sounds good-but in reality, yeah, OK. It just doesn't taste like it used to. I haven't tried Chinese yet...most of the people I've talked to don't do Chinese well and so I just haven't tried it. I've noticed that I really love the Mexican foods...spicier is best. I cannot do beef unless it is fall apart tender. Pork sticks in my throat and I have difficulty getting it down. Chicken...dark, and I was always preferred the white prior to WLS. Vegtables are good, but don't always feel good on tummy. The one type of food that tastes good and doesn't make me sick...is the one I shouldn't have - wheat thins, pretzel chips, carb stuff...ughhhhhh! And the other thing, I can eat candy without getting sick. Mind you I haven't tried much, but did have a half of an Andes after dinner chocolate mint. I also have had fruit chews. I know I shouldn't but it was there...old habits are hard to break. It's frustrating, but I am trying to make healthy, thoughtful choices. In fact, I've never put so much thought into food in my life.
French Fries... I loved me some french fries! Now I find they dont taste as good and something with the texture doesnt agree with my pouch all that well. Also anything over fried... like chinese food chicken.... something again with the texture (and dryness) doesnt agree with me.
As for pizza... I still love that!
I loved pasta!!!!!!! Yah not so much anymore I find that I don't even want it. DH hates that because he is a BIG pasta lover and well I don't want anything to do with it. I have found that I love salad w/chicken or fish on it now. I NEVER liked fish before sugary. I could eat that everyday! Can't say I have tried pizza yet from some reason I just don't want too! I have found that there are a lot of thing I ate before sugary that I just don't have a taste for anymore!
