difficult days
I have been having a couple really difficult days. I am having difficulty eating my meals...just little bits. Therefore, I am hungry later, and find myself munching: usually pretzels, nuts, fruit, or crackers, but still munching.
In addition, I'm having difficulty getting the water in. And cannot get to sleep at night. Once I get to sleep I am OK, but getting there is another story.
I know part of the problem is stress, then there is the arthritis, and finally I just feel punk (blue). Is anyone else experiencing this blue period, or having difficulty eating. I don't want to get in the habit of grazing.
Thanks for responding. You people are wonderful LOL
Hi Cyndi,
Most days I dont care if I eat or not, seems I feel better if I just drink my protein. I struggle getting in 64 oz a day of water. I hope that will change and it become second nature to drink, drink, drink. I cant help with the sleeping problem. I think I go to sleep soon as my head hits the pillow.
I'm not experiencing any of these problems...maybe just a little insomnia at times, but I think that's just due to my age! I do know that many, many people get the blues around the holiday times. Could you be experiencing some of that? I was taking little sips of water after I ate cause my mouth seemed so dry...that made me hungry faster then if I didn't drink after eating. I don't know if that's your problem, but once I stopped sipping after meals, I stayed full much longer. I also keep myself pretty busy and make sure I drink, drink, drink! Are you having difficulty getting your water in because you just don't drink it, or is it that you can't keep it down? Sounds like it may be stress related. I'd call the doctor and find out what they can do to help. Keep us posted and I will keep you in my prayers! Lot's of love and ((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) coming your way! Hang in there Cyndi!
Sometimes it is just difficult to eat - especially if you are trying to eat dense protein foods. I would say split your meals up into 4-5 smaller meals. When you snack, make sure it's protein rich food and not carbs. Some of my favorites quick protein rich snacks are soy chips, jerkey, cheese sticks, boiled eggs and low-carb/Light N Fit yogurt.
On the water, I have to set up a schedule or I forget. I make my protein drink and drink it on the way to work - it has to be done by the time I pull in the parking garage. First bottle of water needs to be done by 9am, second by 11am and then I have one more bottle in the afternoon (I'm usually fuller after lunch and it's hard to get that in) and then another protein shake on the way home. I've been doing this for about 3 months and it's become a habit. Of course weekends are much harder because I don't have my system.
I agree on the holiday blues. It could be that or it could be that our honeymoon time is comeing to an end. Just hang in there. Post on the board for support. Go out with a supportive friend. Just know you aren't alone.
Cyndi- I hope you are feeling a bit better by now. Maybe you are getting the holiday blues. I know it happens to lots of people. I have been eating terrible lately and am sure that my body will suffer for it. I need to get back on track and eat better and get my walking done. I have been good abou****er and supplements so have not let everything go to pot. What do you say we both vow to try harder and get through this rough patch?
