I am so proud of myself that I acctually started back at the gym this last week. However I think I over did it, I am in so much pain. My inner thighs feel like I've been riding a horse for a week straight and my stomach hurts so bad that I can barely sit up or roll over, just like having the surgery all over again. I don't want to be at work right now because it hurts so bad and I still have to go to my night time job where I waitress. That should be interesting since I can hardly move!! Does anyone have any ideas how to eliviate any of this pain? I won't be home until 10:30 tonight to try the heating pad or ice thing. Thanks for listening. Karen

When you get home from a particularly gruelling workout, soak in a warm bath with epsom salts. It really does work. For the rest of today though, just keep moving those muscles, so they don't seize up on you. I bet tonight when you are waiting tables, you will be on the move and will hurt less. Epsom salts might still work for you if you soak tonight when you get home, but then when will you sleep? Good luck. Lori

I agree - I always soak in a hot tub (no epsom salts though) and it seems to relieve aches and pains. Whatever you do, make sure you don't wait too long to go back. I've found that if I am in pain from working out, I will have my rest day and then I go back the next day. I might take it a little easier but I do try to work all the muscle groups so they don't seize up on me. And working them actually will make it hurt less the next day.

Yes, warm water and stretching. It is going to hurt, but you have to stretch that lactic acid out. Don't stop exercising. Just go slower and stretchhhhhh. Ben

Thank you all for you words of wisdom!! I have been trying to get up and walk around every so often at work so I don't get too stiff. I will try the when I get home tonight. I plan on going back to the gym tomorrow since I have to work tonight. I know I need to work throught the pain but it hurts!! In response to Lori's question about sleeping (I am asked that by everyone who knows me by the way) I never sleep that much until usually one night each week I just crash and fall asleep at 10pm. That's really early for me. Thanks Ben for reminding me to stretch, I always forget to do that. Hope you have a great night, I'm on to job #2. Karen P.S. I love these little guys. Sorry if I went overboard. It's the little things in life that make me happy .

Holly, Thank you for checking back with me. I am doing so much better now. When I went back to the gym I made sure I took it easy in the weights dept. I know if I just do a little at a time my body will get used to it and it won't hurt like that again. I was thinking of hiring a personal trainer but I know they can be expensive. Thanks again for checking up. Karen
