5 month post op visit!!
Hi Everyone!
Today was a bittersweet day.
I had my 5 month checkup and I am officially down 94 pounds from surgery and 104 from pre-op.
I am having my labs done on Monday and can't wait for the results!
Dr.is very pleased and said I am doing fantastic!
so all is well there!
The sad news is that my surgeon Dr.Gruniero is leaving next week
I have decided to go to the other Geisinger clinic in Danville to the surgeon Dr.Petrick there for my follow ups,he was my first choice at the begining of the whole process but changed to the clinic in Wilkes Barre because it was a closer drive.
I am so sad I loved Dr.Gruniero he is such a sweetheart and such on outstanding Dr.
I am just thrilled that I was able to have him as my surgeon, but I know I will love Dr.Petrick as well, just need to get to know him.
anyway......
after we left the clinic I stopped my Marshalls to get a new pair of jeans (my treat to myself for a change!)
I walked out with a pair of Tommy Hilfiger SIZE 16!!Normal denim jeans NOT stretch denim!!!and they fit perfect without the mushroom effect!! whooo hooooo!!!!!!!!
and the best part...get this....I only paid $11.00 for them!!! can't beat that huh???
I will be updating my profile with new pictures over the weekend!

Nancy- That is so great! You are doing so well. I am sure you will do fine with your new surgeon. I really did not like my surgeon and avoid seeing him. Kaiser has a bariatric clinic that does all our labs and NUT visits etc so that helps. Gotta love the price of those jeans. I recently bought a 16W and it is already getting big. Have a great weekend.

Awe thanks so much! your doing fantastic too! I just looked at your profile and new picture and my goodness what a big differnce! you look GREAT!!!!!
as for the whole change over,Geisinger has several Bariatric clinics, their clinics do the same thing with visits to Nut,blood work, and such too,the clinics are located right in the hospitals and it is very convienent, the reason I didn't get my bloodwork friday is that the lab was so packed and I didn't feel like sitting there for a hour or so,so I decided to wait until monday and have it done.I have no patience for waiting for stuff like that! lol....
My surgeon's office is actually down 2 floors from the clinic!
The clinic I am going to is the same exact way so it is no differnt that what I am used too,I actually started there at the beginning of the journey,lol...now I am ending up there! I just decided to go to the Wilkes Barre clinic beacuse it is closer, the only concern is that I just need to adapt to the new Dr.
I 'll adjust!!!

Nancy, I am so looking forward to the updated pics. You are doing awesome. I am on a loooonnnggg stall.
Sorry to hear about the need to change clinics. You know, things are so different from one surgeon to the next. My surgeon does zero follow-up--some people get booked in for an 18 month panniculectomy, but I'm not even sure how that follow-up consult happens. Most of the other Canadian surgeons do some follow-up at least. Most of my follow-up is standing 3 month bloodwork , that I might get called in about if there is anything unusual.
We have no support groups here that I am aware of. So all my support comes from this board....Thanks guys!!!
Having said that, I am sure having a hard time learning new eating habits. I worked from home two days this week and totalled off a half a bag of crackers. I was craving carbs like crazy.
That's great news about the new size pants as well. I picked up a pair of pants at Costco today--a size medium. I remember hiding the size tag because I (ridiculously) felt self-conscious that someone would see the tag and then look at me and think I was deluded to believe I could buy pants at Costco, let alone a medium. Get thee to an extended size store, girl.
Anyways, congrats on the changes. Can you believe how quick it has come off?
Lori
Thanks Lori!
We acually do have a support group that meets every week, but,it is at 7:00 pm and is 25 miles from home and I have a hard time driving at night and my husband works nights so no "driving miss daisy"(as he puts it! lol) to the meetings,so I like you get all my support from the board and you are so right! THANK YOU TO ALL!!!
You are doing fantastic too,a size medium!WOWEEEEEE!!!!
I think it takes a LONG time for our heads to actually catch up with the weight loss,I still go in the store and look at the sizes I have been so used to buying for years,4X and 32 pants and realize that those numbers are history (thank gawd!) and then head to the smaller size...OMG Lori we are using the word "smaller" gotta love it huh???
hang in there with the stall hon,it will break been there a month ago!!
((hugs))
