Good Morning Everyone!!!! WOW, it is September already, we are all heading on 3 months since our surgeries, how truly awesome is that!!!! I can't believe how time is flying and how much I am changing and finally feeling good about myself. How about a couple of questions to get this rolling.... 1 - What is your biggest WOW moment so far? 2 - Who has been your biggest cheerleader with all of this and who has been your biggest critic with your surgery? 3 - What are you doing today????? My answers: 1 - My biggest WOW moment, hmmmm, I have had lots of little wow moments, mostly revolving around clothes. I think that the best one so far has been watching all the bones start to pop out. I am always looking at my husband saying, I didn't know that I had a shoulder bone or when did my knees get bones????? I know they have always been there, but I have never been able to feel them like I do now 2 - My biggest cheerleader would definitely be my husband. He has been there through the good, bad and unfortunately the ugly too. I truly couldn't do this without his support. My biggest critic would be my SIL. She was the only one that even questioned me having surgery. She doesn't talk to me too much right now, and well, all I can do it be me, continue to keep the lines of communication open and let her know that I am doing great. 3 - What am I doing today...working like usual. I am contemplating a career change that has got me in a tail spin right now. So, I will be thinking alot about that today. Otherwise, going to workout after work and then wait for my DH to get home from the Brewers game. Nothing too exciting, but then again, I don't always need it to be. I can't wait to hear from all of you....I would love to make this a regular thing...what do you think? Have a great day, work on getting your fluids, protein, vitamins and supplements in and try to move for you today!!!! Jeanna

Good Morning!!!!! 1 - What is your biggest WOW moment so far? I have lots of little WOW moments too. Here is one from the other night. We went to a Dodger game and I could actually see some of the seat when I looked down. Used to be my backside was so big I covered the entire seat. Now I can see some of it. That was great. I was much more comfortable too. 2 - Who has been your biggest cheerleader with all of this and who has been your biggest critic with your surgery? I would say I don't have a biggest of either. My DH is supportive but not overly so. My sister was my biggest supporter but has a new boyfriend and I haven't seen or talked to her as much as I used to. People at work are supportive but in a different way. I do not have a big critic either. I would say the closest is one of my brothers *****ally didn't have anything to say about my WLS. Good or bad. Just silence. 3 - What are you doing today????? I am at work. DS has soccer practice this evening but I don't have to take him because DH is working days this week due to a back injury. I have short ribs in the crockpot and will serve w/ mashed potatoes and some sort of veggie and salad this evening. Tomorrow is my birthday. We might go out but I am not sure. Michelle in SoCal

1. Biggest Wow Moment: I can cross my legs without effort! 2. My biggest cheerleader is my best friend Stacy. 3. What am I doing today? I worked. Grilling filet steaks at the moment. I'm kindof doing bad. I have lost 50 lbs but I have been awful with taking my vitamins/calcium and getting enough protein in this month. I also haven't developed an exercise regimen. SHAME ON ME! I vow to get better!

I am not a fast loser, but it is going slowly but surely. God bless us one and all

Well, I'm a day late checking in but I had my best WOW monent today so that makes it ok! 1. About a month after my surgery, when my 5 year old son first really noticed my weight loss, "Mom, you're not as wide as you used to be!". He declared that he wanted to be able to reach his arms around me and have his his hands touch in the back. This morning as he was hugging me goodbye before the bus picked him and his twin sister up for kindergarten, he yelled "Mommy - my fingers are touching! You're skinny!" Gotta love that boy. Of course, Katie had to try and her fingers touched too. The 3 of us were dancing in the driveway when the bus pulled up. The bus driver must have thought we were nuts! 2. Biggest Support - My husband. He met me heavy, loved me and found me beautiful as I ballooned and is now supportive, cheering me on and enjoying every lost inch and pound of my new body. I went to visit him and some friends at his work (I worked there for 6 years before the twins were born) and I found out from a number of people that he brags about me all the time and this coming from a man who goes out of his way NOT to talk! 2b Biggest Pain in the A$$ - My MIL. She is the classic sabutoer. The closest she's been able to bring herself to a compliment so far is that losing weight makes me look short. (I'm 5'2 and she's 5'10 - luckily my daughter has my MIL's height, my face and my sister's tiny build!) I won't get into the nasty things she's said 3. What am I doing today? Well, I put my twins on the bus for kindergarten at 8:30, went to the gym, did 45 mins on the eliptical, then lifted some weights, came home in time for my son's bus (he's 1/2 day - she's full , my choice). Now I'm going to make Connor & myself some lunch and try to keep him busy until Kate gets home at 3:30. Tonight is date night with my hubby! I'll try to check in on time next week! Hi Jeanna, Great questions. My greatest WOW moment is a toss up between my 6 year old being able to hug me all the way around with room to spare, crossing my legs, or being able to walk down the backyard steps putting only one foot on each stair (instead of the usual double stepping). My biggest cheerleader is me, and my partner is a very bemused supporter who gets a kick out of my "guess what I can do now" statements. My biggest critic, well I can't say I have a critic who has been open or forward. My mother has a very critical nature and I have sensed that she thinks I am doing something wrong since I am not losing 40 lbs. a month like I did in June. She asks everyday if I am still losing weight. What am I doing today....I am at work, looking for another job because I am SOOOOO bored , wishing I had saved for retirement starting at age 18 (15 ), and planning my youngest's 7th birthday party . I will probably step out for a power walk at lunch, although it is very smokey outside, so I am not sure how far I will get. Lori

I also don't have a really big Wow moments - lots of little ones - pulling clothes out of the back of the closet that fit, having a ton of clothes that are too big, probably biggest was buying some plain ole XL clothes in the regular department! Again, not a biggest cheerleader - my hubbie has been a lot more supportive that I expected him to be, kids are supportive, friend Jen is supportive and my brothers - this has all sort of brought us closer together. One bro had the surgery two years ago. I can't believe how much they call me now. I can't wait to go visit! No real critics - Maybe that's because I didn't tell the people I thought would be critical. Even my mom has surprised me. What am I doing? Working - this has been one long week! Will go on my pond-walk when I get home. Maybe shopping. Lately in the past week, I've had trouble getting the protein in. I've been sick so that might have something to do with it - basically I haven't been overly interested in eating. I may have to add a protein shake in the evening soon.
