Any one have problem with excessive leakage? I mean so excessive you've had to wear a bandage it has been 10 weeks. Now it is just a little but still have to wear a bandage. I get so depressed. I would like to know if anyone else had this wrong or am I a freak?

Hi Alice, You were not real specific about your problem so I am not sure how to answer you,by the Leakage do you mean from your incision? if so at 10 weeks you need to contact your surgeon like right away, that is a long time not to be healed. If this is not what you are talking about please specify so we can help hon! ((hugs)) Nancy

I have been seeing my doctor and they tell me 50% of patients get it. It started from one of my staples. My doctor took sample of it and there was no infections. Its called Cellulitus or something like that. Where the fat cells are melting at a very fast rate and my body can't keep up with it. (That was how it was explained to me). I actually just wanted to know if anyone else has had this and how long it lasted?

Hi Alice, The first thing I thought was infection, but since you have been checked and your doctor is aware of what is going on I would not worry about it,it will heal up! I can imagine it being a PITA but look at the bright side, your loosing fat -FAST!!! I had my surgery done Laproscopic and didn't have staples or stitches just strips,so I can't relate to your problem but I know a lot of June bugs had open and could help you more. The board is very slow lately, you may want to post on the main message board for a quick answer. Be sure to let us know how your feeling ok? Hugs! Nancy

I am healing but I am impatient. There is just a hole maybe a little smaller than a head of a pin but it still leaks enough to wear a bandage. The nurse at Hurley told me that if it didn't leak out it would probley get infected, so I guess the leaking is a good thing. I just wi**** would stop. I have posted on the June board but no replys as of yet. I thought that maybe people who have been at my stage could give me some advice. My husband has been so good with me. He changes my bandage like three time a day. He goes to all my doctors appointments and helps me with my diet. Hope everyone else here has this kind of support. Thank you for your responses.

Hey Alice, I had surg. same day - my incision has been healed for at least 4 wks - my Doc left incision open - meaning no staples - he said this heals better from inside out & 99% of time no infection. My SIL had surg. in March & did have leakage for quite awhile - however she had an abcess. Are u on antibiotics for cellulocis??? My dad just had that on his hands & was on antibiotics for 10 days. Don't know if same thing cause his wasn't from surgery. I would keep on top of your surg. - it seems like long time for incision to be open & weepy. Good Luck Kathleen

Well I am healing but not fast enough for me. I was going back to the surgeon every week. They told me every thing was fine and it would heal on its own. I keep it clean and changed still there is no infection THANK GOD! I was hoping to find someone who might have had this happen and how they got through it. Thank you for all your replies. This have been very good for me to be on this site. Again Thank you everyone.

Mine finally healed about 2 weeks ago. I had mine done lap. However, mine got infected and I was on antibiotics for 10 days. I cleaned mine with peroxide and put a gauze pad on it twice a day. Robin
