Losing hair yet?

HI eveyone, I started losing my hair about 3 weeks ago. It is getting quite noticeable now. I have been using nioxin for a long time, but the mass exodux of my hair follicles continues. I will go get it cut shorter on Friday, just to better camoflage it. On the plus side, it is curling quite nicely now, with no weight holding it down. Is anyone else starting to lose their hair? Hi Lori, yeah,I started about 2 weeks ago but not much at all,I just noticed a little more in the drain of the shower,I was prepared for it so I am not alarmed. After my back surgery 3 years ago I lost so much it was horrible,I started to take Biotin and within a few weeks it stoped falling out completely and all grew back fine. Are you taking Biotin? biotin really really helps! I take 1,500 tab daily It is like mothers milk to me..lol... I would speak to your doc about and see what he/she says. I went last thursday and got my hair cut real short,it is easier to take care of and in the possabilit that it starts falling more will be easier to take care of. Hi Lori, I noticed yesterday that my hair is getting thin. I hope this dont last long. I dont have thick hair anyways.

Hi Nancy, Thanks for your response. I certainly was expecting this, particularly as my hair is very thin to begin with. I have to admit I was not prepared for the amount. I am very gentle when I shampoo, yet I still get a handful everytime. I haven't heard of biotin. Is it a presciption drug (not that it makes any difference, since US and Canada regulations differ so much)? By the way, I like your new look, it is very flattering. Lori

Biotin is a vitamin - you should be able ot find it in your pharmacy. So far, it or luck seems to be working for me. Carolyn

I havent lost hair yet... my hair actucally falls out less now than it did pre-op!!! I keep dreading when it will start thou! I get my 3 month bloodwork done in another 2 weeks so I am interested to see what it will say!

No hair loss for me yet...Im sure its yet to come! maybe it wont get to bad for ya! Brooke

Nothing out of the ordinary for me. I'm still taking my Biotin, Folic Acid everyday as well as make sure i get all my protien in. I expect that i will still lose some hair but i have very thick and long hair so i hope it won't be too noticeable

Lori, Yes I am losing a bit of hair too. My MD says its because I have lost alot fast 301 to 205 in 3 months. I am on all the right vitamins and my blood work is perfect. I guess this is a small price to pay for this wonderful weight loss.........Kitty
