Ha, I probably should be the last one posting this b/c I never think too far ahead for my next meal. But it probably keeps me honest. And yesterday, I did add 1-1/2 meat ball - would have been 3 but can you believe my husband ate one of my measley three meat balls? he wasn't sure i wanted anymore! Sheesh! Today: B- protein shake s- nothing L- quiznoz club salad - probably about a 1/3 of it is all I can eat. s-my citracal d- something with hamburger - it's what is thawed. If I have the shells, I'll probably make tacos. My kids will like that and the beans go down pretty well. What are you eating today?

Wow, great job on the water. If I really concentrate and push myself in the day, 60 oz is about what I get (not counting other liquid sources and my sips at night). But I really have to continually remind myself. I don't know how I used to get 100-120 pre surgery. I'm not really having problems with volume - it's just remembering. I keep a bottle next to my keyboard and tell myself - water time, stop typing and drink, all day. I do shoot for having bottle #1 done by 9am, bottle #2 done by lunchtime, but then I fall way off target after lunch b/c I am more full (and busy). You are very encouraging! I may have to try the LC carb control meals. I'm getting tired of the usual fair and I do fairly good on chicken meals from the deli downstairs. But most of the frozen dinners have too many carbs in them for me -- and are too large. I forgot about LC. I remember how presurgery, I laughed that they thought this was a meal. More like a snack at that time! LOL!

Karen- I have the same problem as you with the fluid. I have it sitting next to me, but I get so wrapped up in my work that I forget to sip. I like the idea of setting deadlines for a specific amount of fluid throughout the day. I haven't done that, but I am going to try it. Maybe if I program it in my Outlook, I'll remember. I'm all about deadlines! LOL Today... B- Protein drink S- ¾ cup Special K Protein cereal (dry) L- Chicken (2oz) Caesar salad w 2 tablespoons Caesar dressing S- none (I am drinking instead) D- 2oz Chicken, broccoli & cheese, a few noodles or maybe I'll stop and get a Taco Salad... hmmm S- Protein drink Water: Horrible! So far, only 35 oz fluid. So I have to play catch up tonight. Protein: 69 grams (my target!) Vitamins: AM done, PM will take at bedtime (Centrum chewable, pepcid, biotin, zinc, and I need to remember to buy some Tums with Calcium. I was at CVS today and forgot again. Maybe I'll remember on the way home.) Have a good day! Stacy

Wow Everyone seems to be eating well except for me. I hate everything and wish I would never have to eat again...LOL. I have a shake for breakfast, no lunch not allowed snacks, and I maybe have 4 ounces of cottage cheese and cinnamon for dinner or maybe a few strips of precooked chicken and a half ounce of cheese. I am not allowed salads or beef till 6 months, I can ony have whole wheat pasta, rice or noodles blechhhh and can just not eat much at all. I dread mealtime. No problems, no vomiting nothing- just absolutely no appetite at 10 weeks out. I get 70-90 grms of protein in with shakes and protein supplements maybe 15 gr from food.( milk and cheese). I can't tolerate spicey food at all.one bite - it is over. I take all my vitamins and the shakes take up like 500 calories what with 2 scoops protein, milk and maybe a stallone pudding- it is all for the protein. I was told to do a shake once a day for a year- 50 grams of protein. The water is so tough maybe now I am at 35 or 40 ounces. Just not sure what to do but keep it this way , try some new things here and there as I will never force myself to eat if not hungry - that is totally counterproductive to what we are supposed to learn to do. Enjoy your healthy meals ladies Edyth

Edyth, I had surgery on the 8th of June, so we're in the same boat. I too am having trouble with not feeling hungry - and not wanting to eat. I just visited with my NUT and she really doesn't want me to do the shake thing as she says it is important that we learn to get our nutrients from real food. She told me that it is important to eat when we are suppose to and NEVER EVER skip meals - regardless of how we feel. She said that it will be a while before we really feel hunger, our pouches are still adjusting. I am lucky in that our NUT/Sur. are really great about letting us eat almost all foods as long as we chew very well and don't do seeds, skins, grizzles, etc. Please don't skip your meals - and keep your chin up. If you don't start eating regular, please call your NUT or surgeon. You don't want to develop an eating disorder...been there/done that when I was young - and have been told it is partly responsible for my morbid obesity due to damage I did to my body and my mind.
