Dry mouth white tongue???

Hello All I had my syrery 6/13, and have trouble eating enough but certainly getting in my water is awful. My doctor said it looks like Thrush from the antibiotis during surgery. I tool 1/2 a bottle of Nystatin- for Thrush and it did not help at all so they are putting me on a different Antifungal. I am very worried and started thinking I had all these diseases with dry mouth as a symptom. Also My tongue is coated in white Tomorrow I see my gum specialist for a cleaning and to ask. Maybe she will do a culture- my doctor just looked at my tongue and said Thrush. You are all out about the same, has anyone else seen or heard of this?? Yep--I had it but I already felt that's what I had so before I could be diagnosed I was into the yogurt and cottage cheese and that's what I ate for days. The good bacteria from your stomach, esophagus and mouth were killed too by the antibiotics. Yogurt and etc. get back in there. I had my teeth cleaned 2 weeks after surgery and it helped too. Edyth, Oh yes!! I know exactly what you are going through! I too experienced this and waited 2 weeks before calling the doc because I just thought it would go away. I thought it was just a side effect of the surgery itself! Nasty thrush! I was on diflucan for 10 days! It was a god send but I will tell you, it took the entire time (10 days) before it was gone! Ask for the diflucan pills, they are great! Good Luck! Maria

Dry mouth from dehydration or other causes can also make you more susceptible to thru****'s worth your PCP to check that out. I hope you feel better soon.
