I know it has only been 13 days since surgery, but I was noticing that the top of stomach is still so big. I wear my binder all day and last night I was able to sleep all night without it comfortably. Anyone else wear there binder still? Are you still swollen?

I haven't worn the binder since a few days out, but we're both on the same day, and I am still swollen in the uppermost part of my abdomen. I figure, that's where the most trauma occurred and where the most healing still has to happen, and I am pretty convinced it's normal. Are you having any other symptoms that seem abnormal to you? If you are, a call to the doc would ease your mind and give you more info then any of us can!! Just something to think about, but I too am swollen in the upper stomach and for myself, I think it's normal. There's nothing else wrong with me, and I can tell everything is working right so, I'm not worried for me. HTH! Tin k

I'm excited for you Jackie!! I hear from others that having the drain removed and staples makes such a big difference. I had mine lap, so the drain came out the day I left the hosp. and nothing else to remove. I can tell you though, that I do think having the drain out felt better, but I was awful groggy from surgery until two days after discharge I think! Good luck! I bet your surgeon will be pleased a*****h at how well you've done.

Lap Band on 06/21/06 with
Hi, I'm 3 wks out of surgery and it took about 2 1/2 weeks before my stomach stopped looking like i was 6 mos. p.g. But i had to have 2 hernias repaired and scar tissue removed before the band could even put in and I had to have the port put on the left side because of the hernias instead of the right side that the surgeon said was the usual way he did it. I used the binder on and off for about 5 days as was suggested by the surgeon. The steri-strips came off in 5 days too. I did't have a drain tube or staples so that did make things easier as I probably would have had a longer swollen time. My only area now is the port feels like a golf ball in my side. Other people said they did too until they had their first fill. It's big enough that I can see it. It reminds me of the show Aliens. LOL! I'm waiting for it to pop out and become something alive

I was swollen until a few days ago. I thought it would never go away. I'm curious - what's a binder? Namaste, Kim

I am 2 1/2 weeks out and the scar line is puffy and sore. It is where the scar rubs etc. I feel so much pressure in my abdomen. Havn't been sick once, sometimes seems like I can eat too much so I measure. Only lost 14 lb as of last Mon. It's so hard to have a leap of faith and feel comfort that this is successful. g
