Hey everyone!! Sorry long time no post. I had my surgery on June 30th - very, interesting story, but it will have to wait as I've been too tired to sit at this computer for very long at one time and I'm trying to get it ALL written down... Who'd have ever thunk I'd be too tired for the puter?!?!? lol... I did end up staying in the hospital a little longer then most Lap RNY's, and almost an additional night due to being unable to take deep breaths - therefore having very, low oxygen concentration... You remember that Incentive spirometer thingy they made you suck on??? Pre-op I was over 3000, post op I couldn't get it past 500!?!?! YIKES! However - all is well now. I was telling Annalise and Nancy that I was soooooo tired the day they talked to me last week.. Nancy said hang in there, it gets much, much better about a week out.. I did, and on my one week anniv. I went walking (more then just around the hotel)!! We were out of town and it was just me and the kids - dh had to go home and work, so I took the kids to the zoo!! I walked the ENTIRE THING!!! AND - I met another fellow OH'er who got us in for free and took us on a little mini tour and we visited for a while, what a sweety she is! After the zoo - we hit a HUGE Walmart and walked some more - and then off to the airport where I swear, we walked more then the zoo! Yes, I was exhausted, BUT - it never hurt. AND my usual problems with my back and my sciatic nerve weren't a problem!?!?! Strange..... I got a tinge of sciatic pain at one point and then it went. So, all in all - I walked for about 5 hours on Friday. Then - we took a red eye and flew 6 hours home to pack up our house and move to the state we've been living in for the last 9mos. That's been my whirlwind. I have some other things to share, but this post is long enough!!! Thanks for missing me - and I can't wait to be back on here as much as I was before - it's going to be a few more weeks before I'll be back home and then I'll be a very regular poster again. Love and (((HUGS))) to all - Tin K

Welcome back Tin! That's quite a bit of exercise. There is no way I could have done that so close to post-op. I remember going to walmart 5 days out and I was exhuasted. And I was there only one hour. Good for you. Take care Tin. Ben

CONGRATS Tin!!!!! It is great to see you again. I agree, I would not have been able to do all that walking in one day that soon after surgery. Good luck on the move and I can't wait to hear more about how you are doing. Jeanna

Thanks guys for the welcome back!! I know - the walking was probably WAY overkill, but I was in a position where I felt I pretty much HAD to. My poor kiddos had been cooped up in the hotel room with me for 2.5 days, with the promise that I'd try - I figured if I got desperate, they'd probably have wheelchairs, even though I'd feel like a dork!! It was okay though - I sat down and we took time outs ALOT. My son was too cute, he kept saying, mom how can I help you, do you need to sit down? Are we moving too fast?? I love my babe... what a sweetie. And then - we didn't have a hotel room to return to so what was I to do? I thought about sitting at a park, but that was too BORE...ING... So Walmart it was, and THEN.. by the time we got to the airport?!?!? *sigh* no choice. I didn't lift any of our bags though!!!! My sweetie 7yo boy did it ALL.. I coulda just died with motherly pride swelling in my heart. Hey - Annalise - I'm sure we'll talk in the next day or two - I've got so much packing going on, but I'll need a break, or I won't drink my protein! Can't have that, now can we? Jeanna - thanks! Ben- thanks..
