Today I am 14 days post op and I had my first real food for dinner tonight. How funny that I was excited to move up to pureed or mashed foods.and call this real food. My choice was to eat a scrambled egg, it felt very good to be able to chew, and chew and chew. Can't beleive that I took 15 minutes to eat the egg. By reading many of your postings I have gotten some good ideas for other foods that qualify for this week. I am looking forward to having refried beans with enchilada sauce and ricotta cheese with pasta sauce. I want to thank all of you for being there for me. Even when I have had trouble sleeping, at 2 or 4 a.m. I could get on my computer and read postings from the Junettes and feel better. Thanks again, Estelle

tina, i put a small can of albacore tuna in water, drained, in my magic bullet blender and about a tbsp of light mayo and puree it. it is still kind of firm, but you have to use a spoon. if you like tuna, it taste really good! some things get a pasty consistancy, some are a little more juicy. good luck, teri

Hooray!! What a glorious stage to be on to! I can't wait to join you, just the idea of some refried beans has me salivating like crazy! Enjoy, enjoy. You know - Nancy pointed out something beautiful about the way our stages are set up... Once you finally get to the next stage - things you NEVER would have thought of as wonderful, like perhaps refried beans, are suddenly decadent. What a switch in mindset, huh? It's a good side effect I think. Have fun! Tin k

I am also two weeks post op and I did not realize how much I took for granted before the surgery. My first week I watched the Cooking Network all day (I know it is when I could only have liquids). My mother made me some lima bean soup for stage II and I felt like I had died and gone to heaven . I also brought a bullet and GT xpress for work. I want to stay focus when I return. My job has free food all the time and I do not want to get caught up. Continue to stay strong and keep your and mind on the prize and we will all make it together! Nikki
