Just thought id drop in and say hi to my fellow June surgeries! I go for my two week follow up today and am excited!!! I lost 14lbs on the liquid pre-op, came out of the hospital 4lbs lighter and the scale did not move again until this past Tuesday - sheesh!!! It has gone down another 5lbs thou so I am happy to finally see it moving since I had surgery. Down 23lbs total and feeling fine! I had no pain post op - was out of the hospital in 2 days and the day after being discharged was out running errands! 6 days after surgery I was back and work and feeling great! Started on "soft foods" on Tuesday and have been doing great so far. I did mix 2 strawberries into a protein shake - it was sooo tasty but it did NOT agree with me so no strawberries for a while! I printed out some arm exercises online to start working on my bat wings and have been swimming in the evening as well! I cannot believe at how great I am feeling and hope that the rest of my journey continues on this same way!! I hope all of you are doing even 1/2 as well as I have!!!

I'm up and starting my day. I go for my 1 week checkup today. I've had my 1/2 of a protein shake and my first full liquid chewy something comes in about 30 minutes. I just folded the 2nd load of clothes. My hubbie goes back on the road today, so I have to get him off. I feel pretty good. Just real easy to get tired. I have figured thats from the lack of protein and carbs for over a week now. Anyway, I'm still excited my mom's scale shows 22 lbs. and I can't wait to see what the doc's scales show. Anyway, I wish all of you a blessed day!!! Magina

I am doing a bit better every day. I had a problem with an infected incision which slightly slowed my recovery for a bit. I also had a bad reaction to an anti nausea medication which was prescribed after surgery and ended up back into the emergency room for a night. Both are much better now. Yesterday I had horrible pain in my pouch, I guess from eating too much or too fast. It happened after I ate one scrambled egg for breakfast. It took about 3 hours for the pain to go away but it finally did. I have also been having some problems with gas that won't leave my belly. I feel so bloated and it hurts so bad. I have tried walking and gas x, but nothing seems to help. It is better today than it has been, so I hope it is even better tomorrow. I am struggling getting in all of my water and protein, but I am getting better with that every day. It just seems impossible to get in all tha****er when I nap three times a day. I probably shouldn't be napping that much, but it makes me feel better. I figure at a little over two weeks out I am allowed to nap a little bit. I did get out and walk about a mile today which felt good. It was the first day that it wasn't TOO HOT to go outside. On the plus side, I have not had much problem trying new musshy foods. And I have lost 18 lbs. I am sure the rest will get better every day.

I'm jealous - I went to my 2-week Wednesday and they told me to wait until 6 weeks for swimming! For your info, they did tell me when I got to the smushies, I could have most fruit except really acidic fruits and berries. Most berries have a lot of little seeds which don't agree with you. So that may be your problem. Where did you find the arm exercises? I'm waiting for my "glob" arms to turn into bat wings, but would like to do some exercises also.

Go to webmd.com and search womens arm exercises - these were the best ones I found. You only need to buy one weight (I got a 3lb and 5lb) and alternate arms! Ive started doing 2 sets of 12 reps and all the exercises take about a half hour!

Doing well here. 22lbs down with no pre-op diet. Think I am lucky there..my surgeon just said no food midnight before the op I had a chest infection and oral thrush which I've never had before and hope not to again! Only problem I'm having now is with threatening leg cramps when I walk. So will give myself a bit longer before I hit the gym. I go back to work on the 10th July and start on mushies on July 20th. Funny thing at the moment is I can't stop cooking! Hubby did all his own cooking the first week home and is happy to continue doing so, but I want to cook. I suppose this is where the emotional tie to food comes in.....I might not be able to eat it.. but I can touch it, smell it, handle it lol.

Hello friends! Had my 2 week check up yesterday and I'm doing great. Got my staples out and I'm down 29 pounds so far! I'm back to work today and look forward to my excercise now. Not sure when the last time that happened! I'm onto full liquids now and will graduate to soft foods in another 8 days. So glad to be on full liquids. Chicken broth and I are no longer friends.

Hi...I have not been checking out the site recently....I forgot about it....I'm doing great..had my two week appointment last Thursday..down 23 pounds...as of today..down 27 pounds. I have only had a few moments when I didn't feel exactly great..once when I ate a scrambled egg. I have tried Progresso soup (beef and veg) mushed in the food processor..It went down pretty good...yea!!! I'm still having trouble getting alot of liquids in...water, propel, etc. gurgles down and sits in my baby pouch. It doesn't matter what temp the liquid is. I'm trying different methods so I don't get dehydrated. Yea for us June 20th's!!!! -karen-
