Today was my second day on soft foods. Yesterday I had a horrible belly ache so the only thing I tried was a bit of mashed potatoes with cheese. It was yummy. This morning I started off with a scrambled egg with cheese. For lunch I had a bit of cottage cheese with apple sauce mixed in. For dinner I have having 1/4 cup pureed dinty moore beef stew. YUM. everything seems to be going down fine. My only problem is waiting an hour after eating to drink again. That is the longest hour. Plus I still need to work on supplementing my protein.

I'm going to dr today for my 2-week and think that he will be putting me on the smushies (I HOPE so). But then I know I'll get scared - I'm ready for eggs and cott cheese.

An hour? Wow! I'm having trouble waiting the 1/2 hour to drink. BTW, my favorite mushie was refried beans topped with cheese and enchilada sauce. Nice. Take care, Ben

Oh that all sounds so good! I went today for my leak test (gross, gross, gross) and I see the surgeon tomorrow for the results. If all is well I get to start on refried beans, cottage cheese, eggs, and skim milk. I can't wait. My first meal is going to be refried beans with cheese and enchilada sauce.

I was on pureed foods right away so I am more than ready for something a little more solid. One thing that I have loved also is ricotta cheese and spaghetti sauce. Just make sure that the ricotta cheese is low fat and the spaghetti sauce is low in sugar. It tastes like lasagna. I add some garlic salt for a little more taste as well. Enjoy!! Jeanna

Some of the things I like in the pureed stage: My favorite is the f/f re-fried beans, low fat shredded cheese, and no sugar salsa! Quaker Weight Control Banana Bread Oatmeal Bean w/ Bacon Soup Cottage Cheese with s/f preserves All in all, this is not a favorite stage for me. However, I am getting into my protein shakes!! My favorite? Protein Delite Chocolate Coconut, with 6 oz of Skim Milk, 6 oz of Water, and a Teaspoon of Peanut Butter!!! Robin
