Hello everyone, my name is Teri... I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been posting/lerking on the California board and just stumbled onto this one. Man, I wish I had found you all a couple of weeks ago!! I have finally reached my 3 week mark and I can progress to pureed foods at last. I had 4 oz. of refried beans tonight for dinner and can I tell you, it was the best thing I have ever tasted. (guess its the little things, ea?). Anyway, hope everyone has a great 4th... and its nice to meet my June 2006 sisters and brothers. Teri

You are SOOOOOO lucky! Can't wait to be there! I made scrambled eggs for my hubby this morning and we both sat down and ate. It's utterly hilarious to see me with my 4 oz. of protien shake while he eats his eggs. He laughs everytime I say I'm full. He's like - Laura I can't imagine being full off of 2 oz of jello. Again, I CAN'T WAIT for phase II and pureed foods....... Good luck to you and your journey. I found this board pretty quickly and have found EVERYONE to be SOOOOO helpful and NICE. Just wish I could meet everyone - but we are all scattered in different parts of the country. Anywho..... Keep up the good work and keep me/us posted of your progress and what works for you and what doesn't. We can all learn from one another. God Bless and Stay Positive!!! Laura

Hello Teri. I was so sick of liquids. My doctor had me on a one month liquid diet prior to surgery. Staying on liquids another eleven days was a bit depressing. So when mushies arrived, I was in heaven. It was funny, however, to see how quickly I filled up. My favorite meal was refried beans with low fat cheese and enchilada sauce on top - yummy. Yesterday was my first day on chicken and fish. Filled up even faster. Take care Teri. Ben

Hi Teri- I am just up the coast a bit from you near LAX. I was so happy when I ate refried beans the first time. But now I have gotten sick on them twice so am not so thrilled with them. I am fine w/ the Rosarita non-fat but got sick off beans from a Mexican place. I had Taco Bell beans once and they were fine but then at a different TB I felt sick after. I think it was because the beans were not as well cooked and had bits of hard bean in it. Yuck I feel gross just thinking about it. Glad you found us here. Michelle in SoCal

Hi I went to the mercada guaddalahara " known here as the mexican store" I love it I can but fresh hot refried beans and I buy some just made carnitas and they chop it really good for me and I add a little bit of ranchero cheese and OMG it is to die for. It last me for days because my portion size is only at 1/4 cup combined total per meal right now. My daughter who also had surgery the same day loves it too and when were feeling generous we share it with the hubby. Welcome to our June board.
