I am back home and I am hurting.......

They kept me an extra nite due to a fever. It resolved this am..have to take blood thinner shots for 1 week 2x a day. Had an allergic reaction to the tapes and strips. Took 1 hr. to get a tube down my airway..but the doc says success. I feel sooo bloated. Am keeping liquids down. I am in Pain. How long did people take pain pills? How long before you could get up from bed on your own? I had open andt his humidity is almost unbearable. I am going between sweats and shivers..the hosp room was 88 degrees. I really wanted this surgery and hate to sound like im *****en but I am hurting and getting my period to boot. When will I feel better? g

Gosh I feel so bad for you . Can you stay in front of a fan . It took me 5 days till I felt well enough to go and lounge on the couch. I also was on my pain meds for 5 days till I started to taper off and now I have been off them totally for 3 days and I am 11 days post-op. Feel better soon

Thanks Annalese..lap sure soundseasier..more gas perhaps. i think maybe it was morphine pump withdrawl.. I did just sleep in bed 5 hrs. and got out alone ( albeit onto my knees on the floor and up!!!!. Dont have a scale here so I havn't a clue about weight loss.still feeling bloated and glad I'm onto the feild where the losers bench is...g

Everyday gets a little better... Yesterday, was the last day of my antibiotics and this morning I had my last shot. Things are getting much better for me! I still am taking my liquid pain medicine. Hang in there! Robin

I am on Lortab for pain. I was on Lovenox for clotting. IMHO, those shots hurt after awhile! But as long as they did what they were supposed to do, I was good with that. Plus, I am done with them now!! I have my first post op appointment today!

Hi I am on the lovenox also ( 1 Wk) to prevent clots.. I had a heart attack 15 mo. ago) My husband gives them to me and they don't hurt right away but they burn and my belly looks like a battlefiel, a big battlefield. I had a great shower and feel a little better. you? g

Where I go, they give the Lovenox as a precaution. I will not complain about that! My problem was, I was so swollen that I didn't have an inch to pinch! I had my first follow up. I am down 18#'s!! I can't believe it! I asked the Dr. if I was 'ok' because I still NEED my pain meds! He said that I was doing great! My go back to work date is on the 26th of July! That surprised me. I guess I am behind because of the bronchitis. Happy 4th and take care everyone!! Robin
