I am doing that too Annalise. Up the road and back again. My surgeon said to me "walk, walk, walk". I have a chest infection at the moment so that's another reason to take it easy. I find it hard to believe how tired I feel and I'm very glad I took an extra week off work. It's my birthday on July 5 so I am getting myself a year membership to the gym and I'll seek guidance from the instructor. I used to go and really did enjoy Pilates. Step box almost killed me lol so I might wait 50lbs before I try that again. I think its a case of listen to your body...

Hey Sharyn, That is awesome happy early birthday to you too. My daughter is in allstar cheerleading and her cheergym has a parent team that I have been on for 2 years . It is really fun but this year I want to do a round-off in the routine. So I want to get in shape and lose some of this weight so I can do the round-off. Who knows maybe next year a backhand-spring. Ha Ha

Hi....my program stresses 15 minutes of walking a day at first also. Soon as I get clearance I'm going back to the pool and just walk in the pool and move my arms. Then once he says I can get into regular normal exercise I'll start back with the aquasculpt class I have taken for two years before. It's very good for finding your core, doing some light weight training and toning but it offers nothing aerobic. Once I lose enough weight to justify a new bathing suit I'm going to get one that does not have one of those blasted skirts that rides up in my face in the water! Then I'll start the regular water aerobics. As I go down in weight there are other fun things to do...We have a kayak and a canoe and by fall I should be down enough to take some short rowing trips. About that time I also plan to expand my wellness center membership to full fitness and will look at having a personal trainer for a while. One thing I have had to do is get away from a lot of the obligations I had or was involved in so that I can homeschool my son AND set aside the time for myself at the gym MOST days of the week. Everybody who wants a peesamee will just have to get over it!

Amy - sounds like you are doing great. I'm walking on the treadmill at the gym but have only been able to get there about every other day. I've walked between 30 minutes and 45 minutes depending on my energy level. It's so hot around here that it's really hard to do much outside. Really drains you. I'm hoping to get back in the pool soon - don't know if that will be at 2 weeks, 4 weeks or what.

Hi Annalise, I am starting to walk for about 8 mins at a time VERY slowly on the treadmill - trying to build up to 15 minutes. I too am looking forward to swimming after I get clearance from my surgeon. Love, Julia

I've gotten up to 1/2 mile each day. I do a slow stroll but my program calls for 40 minutes a day.
