hello, new here and having surgery friday

hello everyone heard alot of good things about this site. My cousin had surgery in Jan. said her pals on the jan board really helped her. She has lost 117 lbs. I am excited but alittle scared because of all the horror stories everyone feels empelled to tell me. I know alot of people that have had it done , only a few of them have had small complications.......UTI for ex.

WELCOME JUNE BABE!! You are kinda in a good position here. It being the end of the month , most of us are post-op already so you can learn from our mistakes. If you read back you will see there have been a few "issue"s but everyone seems to be doing fine and on the right track. (No one has fessed up to a UTI yet but you don't even have to have surgery to get one of those.) We are pretty frank so if you have a question its ok to ask SOMEONE will answer. So once again welcome Jackie we are so glad you found us. MsSmiles

Once you know this is the best decision for you and your only option, everything falls into place and you should be at peace. I was. Aside from some gas problems, my experience was excellent. I weighed 476 at first consult and 437 on surgery day. Just remember why you're doing it. Write it down on a 3x5 card and take it with you to your surgery. Congratulations! You'll be losing soon enough. But remember, nothing worth doing is ever easy. Good luck, Ben

Im so glad you made it here. Like Ive said to you many times, the January 06 board has been my lifesaver on several occasions. I hope you find all the help here that you need and if you dont, you always have ME........lol. Im so excited for you and Friday will be here before you know it. Jackie, welcome to the June group! We're so glad to have you with us.. we are still getting to know one another too, so you've come at a good time. OH is a fantastic site, and it's neat to pair up with a group of people that are in about the same time frame as us. Comparing notes is wonderful, and being at the end of the month has kinda been fun, kinda been a pain! I've been able to watch all of the June babies before me go through this and take notes, but I've been sooo impatient for MY turn!!
