and then surgery comes! Monday monday.. I am scared but more scared of how I will act when I have the diet.. One day at a time I am always told and it has become a mantra... How come something we work so hard to get...makes us so scared when we get it... Everyone is so supportive though so I have no negatives going into this. I have my family and I have all of you as my extended family. But really this isn't about me in this post, I just wanted to tell you all that I am thankful for the insight you have given me, if you know it or not, your experiences, your questions, your worries that make me feel that I am not the only one worrying about that. Love you all, Jessica

Hi Jessica, I wish you all the best. My surgery was on 6/16 and I feel great now. Days 1 and 2 were a bit tough, use your pain meds, bring your own lip balm. and walk as much as you possible can. Walking really helps a lot. EW

My surgery is tomorrow too. I wouldn't really say I'm scared or nervous, I just want to get it over with. I'm not afraid of the actual surgery, I'm more afraid of having complications afterwards. I know this is the right thing to do and I will go through with it after I've worked so hard to get it. Best of luck to all of us 6/26'ers!

Jessica, Good Luck on Monday! I do want to point out one thing with your comment above.... DIET is a 4 letter word, and if you look at this as a diet , you WILL fail! This step is a tool in changing your life. Remember this is permanent, but a diet is only temporary. Best of Luck, Darrin 3 Days Post-op: Down 8 lbs.

I was feeling exactly the same a week ago....going through the waiting process seemed like forever, then you get your surgery date and.....WHAT?.....the nerves start getting frayed and shot.....then you are at the last fews days of preop prep....and sheer fright starts setting in.....Guess what?...Once you get to the hospital you are surrounded by the professionals who have attended and assisted patients just like us...Everyone around me was so attentive and knowledgable that the fear went away....Then every thing happened very quickly....you will be fine and the next few days after surgery will also go very quickly, as well if you follow your surgeon's directions....after that come back to this site...ask questions...seek answers. It is one of the best sources I have found for almost every topic. -karen-

Good luck Jessica!! You're going to do fantastic, if you just keep your thoughts on the "prize" and what your ultimate goal in all this is.. Think of the life that lies ahead. Can't wait to hear your story when you get back! Tin K

My surgery is Monday morning, too! I hope all goes well for you. This board has been a great support for me over the last year and a half. See you on the losing side!
