Vagal response anyone?

This afternoon I did a dive in relation to my recovery. I was banded on June 20th and doing well when my pain suddenly increased, stomach bloated, vision went blurry, ears started ringing, became nauseous and went white as a sheet. My husband took me to the ER where I was told to wait (Saturday night here...not good). Within ten minutes of my arrival they grabbed a wheelchair and took me into a cubicle when I started dry retching and went a very ashen colour. Every test under the sun was done and my husband told anyone who stood still for two minutes that I had hung out the washing today. I was given some nice pain medication and sent home five hours later. The doctor seems to think I had a vagal response. He wasn't sure and insisted I return if it happened again. My incisions are fine - no infection and I have followed to the letter my surgeons post op diet plan. Since the last time I weighed myself - a week ago - I have lost 6kgs (13.2lbs) which seems an awful lot to me. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them?

No, I haven't heard of that happening, and I'm still pre-op, but I wanted to offer my sympathies anyways.. How scarey for both you and your husband! I hope it doesn't happen again, but if it does that they can determine the trigger so it can hopefully be avoided in the future! You poor dear. It sounds terrible. Things are better now though?? I hope so!! Big (((HUGS))) and prayers that you will continue to mend nicely, without any further issues like that one! (((HUGS))) Tin K
