No desire to drink anything...
How are you guys doing on getting your liquid in? Just got home from Barix yesterday, and I am having a tough time. I can swallow, but have no desire to eat, so I am force feeding myself. Is this what everyone goes through? I haven't even begun to attempt protein, except for skim milk. I'm not even sure how much I should consume at a time. I do burp after every sip, and it concerns me that it will be like this when I go back to work. I can't imagine trying to drink my liquids if I have to burp all day.
I think I am just a bit overwhelmed with everything, and I'd like to hear how everyone is incorporating fluids into their day and what you are drinking? Hoping that your suggestions will help me.
Thanks!
Stacy
Try making homemade chicken soup and sipping on that it will get you some protein you are needing in. I also cant seem to drink water or crystal lite unless it is very very very cold. Try that. I hope this helps.. SIP SIP SIP.. the burping will stop. I had mine on the 19th and I am feeling better i only burp a little.

Hi,
My surgery was on 6/16 and until today, I've not felt really "hungry." I forced myself to drink. My pouch isn't sure it likes really cold drinks now bu****er, Crystal Light, and diet tea have been my friends. I do drink milk as well.
I found myself praying for a burp and I was happy when they started. Now they have decreased in frequency and happen mostly when I drink too fast or too much.
I'm loving the Protica Profect protein drink. It's not filling, goes down easy and gives me lots of protien (25 g) in a little shot.
Don't rush back to work if you don't have to do so. Take time and figure this thing out.
All the best.

Thanks for the responses. I have to go back to work a week from Thursday, so I am hoping to get this routine down soon. I still have no idea what the limit is on my pouch. I sip very very slowly, and I can seem to sip for a long time. Probably because it is water or crystal light it goes right through. I did attempt a protein drink this morning, and it went well. Got most of it down in about 30-40 minutes. I will be glad when I am further out and it is not so hard.
