I'm home

I thought I'd pop in and say hi. I had my surgery on Tuesday and was released yesterday. First day was a blur, second - pretty painful from the gas - I could hardly do my walking, but I got a little relief and was doing laps up and down those hospital halls! There was nothing else to do! Now last night was hard -- I didn't realize how nice those movable hospital beds were until I went to lay down in my flat beds. I felt like Goldilocks except one was too low, one was too high and none were just right. I ended up sleeping an hour on the coach until my hubbie went to work - Ahhh, his side of the bed was just right! hehe. Actually, I'm going to using the guest room I think - I'm a left-side sleeper and can't do that now and involves too much crawling/sliding to get in my side of the bed. I don't want to disturb his sleep since he actually has to get up and go to work. How long can I expect to be able to lie on my left-side again? - hopefully a week maybe? I don't know if I'm doing this food thing right. I ate some broth - an ounce, I have 3-4 sips of my glass of isopure every hour. Seems like I'm sipping from my water bottle constantly but it doesn't empy like before. I'm hoping I can get 2-12 oz bottles plus some today and work my way up. My doctor wants 45 ounces but that includes my broth and isopure. No major stomach upsets - a little pressure sometimes - like heart burn. Is that what you mean by too much? It goes away quickly. Congrats to all the other folks that had surgery this week also!

Congrats for making it! The sleep discomfort will end in a couple of days. It has been 9 days for me and I sleep comfortably on my stomach! Everything feels like it did before surgery... just bear 'it' a few more days! May you succeed beyond your wildest dreams! Kayla

Welcome Home Karen!! Sounds like you're right on track. Wish I could offer a suggestion on the sleeping, but I think like Kayla said - just hang on, good "nights" are around the corner! Congrats on making it to the loosers team, and save a space for me!! I'm comin on over soon! Lots of gentle hugs to you - Tin K

Hi Karen, Glad to see that you too got to come home - there is nothing like "home sweet home". I know what you are saying about eating too much too fast, I get the hiccups. Guess that we will adapt to all this new biofeed back that our bodies are teaching us. It really sounds like you got your plan together and are on the mend. Take care Richard R.

Karen - I know I am a little late in responding but welcome home too!!! I got home last Thursday and haven't been online too much right now. I am fighting lightheadedness most of the morning and then between trying to get in all my water and protein and walk, walk, walk I don't find time to get to the computer. I know what you mean by the bottomless bottle of water. I swear I am drinking tons of it, but it never goes down. I think that the "Water Bottle Fairy" just keeps coming and refilling it faster than we can drink it right now. I can't wait to hear more of how you are doing. Congrats and welcome to the Loser's Bench. Jeanna

I'm with you, Jeanna on the lightheadedness. I have that a lack of energy but it's all getting better. I just have a teeny bit of pain on my left side lef****er is getting easier - I add a few sprinkles of Crystal Light in it sometimes but then I drink it faster than what my stomach wants so I only do that every once in a while. I'm up to broth and yogurt! Scheduled to go back to dr. on the 6th so I'll move up to next level on the food plan. Started walking more today also as I have a little more energy.
