15 lbs already! LOL! I knew I'd lose quick. I always start off really fast then slow way down. Anyway, here are a few "good to know" pointers for all of you about to have surgery: 1. You know when they say walk? They know what they're talking about! This helps so much with gas!! As soon as I would stand up I'd burp! 2. I was on liquid lortab (hydrocodone) and it knocked me the hell out! I hate not being awake and feeling groggy when I am. The pain for me wasn't bad enough to take it so I would suggest if the pain/soreness is tolerable, don't take the pain meds. 3. I was fed twice while in the hospital. My nurses sucked. Be sure you ask you surgeon what you are supposed to eat in the hospital. My first sip of anything was sf applejuice and my surgeon came in to see me and I was sipping on it. He was like "Uhm, you don't need to be drinking applejuice". So anyway, point is, your hospital/nurses may not know your diet so be sure you find out exactly what you'll be eating. 4. I have been really emotional. I can cry on que and it's over nothing. My boyfriend is doing all he can for me but I somehow got it in my head that it wasn't enough and that he was neglecting me...lol! If you get emotional, please realize it's just that and it will pass. That's all I have for now. I'm trying to learn when and how much to eat and I have a long journey ahead of me. Good luck everyone!

Holly! Congrats from another Jun 15th baby!! I haven't stepped on a scale yet, and since I don't have one at home that can handle the weight, I expect it will be next week before I find out if I've lost anything! I will goto a group meeting on Monday and they have a set of scales there! I have to say that my Nurses and Nurses Aides were wonderfull at the hospital! I actually didn't get to see my surgeon once the surgury was complete, only the Physician's Assistant (PA) stopped in and we had some good talks! So I have to say its good that my surgeon has a good staff and team! Apple juice was definately on my surgeons list of ok stuff for the first day! It was just a little sweet for me though and I only sipped on a little of it, much preferring the water! Good luck on the remainder of your trip! Robyn 6/15/05
