4 days out
I had mine done on monday the 5th. My Doctor said that he had spent some more time on me, so I ended up in surgery for about 5 hours. I am having a lot of nausia and pain, especially where that damn pump is. I still need help getting out of bed. This entire week has been hell. Everything I do hurts. The only thing that is helping is the liquid hydrocodone or loritab. The thing that sucks is that it lasts for about an hour and half and you can only take it every 4 hours. Well I should be around for the next few days, so I'll try to update my page if anyone is interested in reading about my experiences.
Hi there Paul I am next week so all I can offer you is sometype of support....I have been told by all my girlfriends that I should WALK WALK WALK I think you get the point so thats my plan if I can do it anyways I hope you start to feel better and I look forward to your posts on your progression in this new life!!!!
Paul, hang in there!!! It must be miserable, I can only imagine. I'd ask your doc if there is something you could take with the Lortab - liquid tylenol doesn't seem like much, but in combination it would be helpful, UNLESS - there is acetaminophen already in your brand of Lortab... We usually give our patients a combo of things and that seems to help much better for operative pain. Usually though it's ibuprofen, which our docs prefer we not take. *sigh* but still... I'd ask because you shouldn't have to suffer!! It' thwarts your recovery process because you are unable to move around as much as you would if you were adequately taken care of in that dept!! Imagine how much more you'd move and walk if the pain were better!! Please call???
I look forward to reading about your experience. I'm sucking up all the information I can get my hands on right now!!
I feel really nausious whenever I go for walks, and I have had this really uncomfortable feeling of fullness. I think its normal but its a feeling of being full of fluid in my stomach. When I go to lay down on the bed I can feel like a jiggly sensation, not sure if thats the right term, but it feels like a lot of fluid is moving around. I don't think its water retention because I have no problem going Number 1. But right now this is my biggest worry, that and the nausia.
