June 21st for me!

I've having lap. RNY at Portsmouth. Very excited. I've been hearing take very little with you. Wear the same thing to the hospital that you will wear home....a loose sundress type thing supposedly works well. Take your own pillow, so that when you can sleep in the hospital...you'll sleep better and for the ride home to hold on to for bumps and such. I'll take my carmex in the tube for my dry lips but also my lipstick and eyeliner for when I feel more like spiffing up. Some bath and body works spray or cream (maybe both....whatever fits in my travel kit.) And of course my toothbrush, paste and deodorant....a ponytail holder and a brush. I would LOVE to have an ipod to take....that's the best idea I've heard yet. Oh....and my mother would like to be there but can't....so she had a bear made for me at one of those bear workshops. She is stuffed extra extra hard. She has on a purple gown, a purple thing in her hair, gossamer wings and a pretty magic wand. (My favorite color is purple.) She came with a birth certificate and you could choose your own name for your bear. So the name of my bear is...drum roll....are you ready? "Bari Godmother." I can hardly stand it. She will be my support when I have to cough and even if I didn't need that....it would just be nice to see her sitting there when I wake up.....like a little bit of my mom being there with me. Your Bari Godmother sounds perfect! Congratulations on your surgery. You sound like you're right on with what to pack.. I forgot about the pillow. I think I may take my laptop, but I'm not sure - it's a little risky, but.. I feel lost without it! At least I could watch movies and listen to music with it. I'll have to see - my husband can take it back to the hotel if need be.
