CIB tomorrow
Well gals, and gents, tomorrow I start the Carnation Instant Breakfast and then the big day is Tuesday, June 6th! I can hardly believe it, it's coming so fast! I'm excited and nervous and scared and happy and just plain silly! Hmmm, that might just be my normal self! Tonight is my "last supper" and I don't even feel like eating. It's not like I'll never eat again, so it's not as important as I thought a "last supper" would be. I really am happy I've made this discision and I'm so happy for everyone who's thinking about the journey, about to take the journey, or fully into it!
Here's to LIFE!
Hi Edi!
My surgery is the day before yours!!! I started my liquid diet last Monday (my surgeon requires 2 weeks pre-op). It is actually going pretty good. I have lost 12 lbs. since Monday!!! I am hoping for at least 8 more and I'll have a 20 lb. (actually 25, I lost 5 the month before I started liquids), jump start on the surgery!
My first day of liquids was the hardest...I realized how consuming food was to my thoughts! However, that part has gotten easier each day. It is amazing that for the first time in my life...I am eating to live, not living to eat!!!
Here's to LIFE! (that's CIB in those mugs, of course )
Susan
Hello Susan!
Three people in our group have surgery on the 5th, I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers!
I noticed that I've lost weight too just drinking the CIB. I can actually get on my ankle bracelets! But I can't wait for the day that they're too big!
I watched a lot of TV while I worked doing some spring cleaning and realized that there are WAY to many food commercials on TV. I solved that though...QVC has no commercials and great jewelry!) hehehe
My best to you!
Edi

Wow Vandi ,
I will have to remember what you just posted.
EAT TO LIVE NOT LIVE TO EAT !
Hi Edi!!! I've started my liquids today . I've been trying to keep myself busy but sooner or later a craving, image, or a scent from the break room makes me really have to fight. Like everyone says, the first days are the worst so I hope they go by fast! I know I'll make it! Are you getting excited?????
Hi Tanya!
Yes, I'm sooo excited. It seems like the past couple months flew by and now this last week seems to be lasting forever! I've packed and unpacked for the hospital a couple times now (I mean how ridiculous...how many times does one person need to pack a toothbrush!) I'm not having any problems with food though (allergies and a stuffy nose is a good thing sometimes!) I don't go down to the cafeteria except to get milk so I'm not smelling all the food and my coworkers don't eat at their desks. I'm pretty lucky. I have noticed that I've had to stop myself from pulling a treat out of the area candy jar. Not that I want to eat it, but it's a habit I've picked up while working. I moved the jar and no one minds.
I know you'll do a great job and succeed!
Cheers!
Edi
