Topic: Low Iron!
Well, I got my PAT's back from the plastic surgeon and he says I am still low in my hemoglobin! Now I have done my research, but have no experience with this!
I don't know whether it is the low iron or the b12 causing the low iron that is the problem. I also found out that tea and coffee are iron absorption inhibitors, which I did not know and drink tons of tea a day. I wonder if it is the caffeine in these items that is the problem or the drink itself, anyone know?
Well, today I go to the hemotologist and see if he wants to give me iron infusion for my surgery coming up. I do not want them to put it off! I have waited forever for this and waiting would send me into such a depression!
Well maybe they can fix me up and I won't be so tired and cold all of the time. I am freezing constantly and have NO energy. I can manage to get through stuff, but it is hard on me. My work weekends (every two weeks third shift for 4 days) about kill me! It takes me a week to recover and by that time I have to go back to work!!
Any advice or ideas would be helpful.

I soooo know what you mean!! I have been on ebay and at the store buying lingerie like crazy! I have even bought stuff for after the plastics that I would never have worn before! My hubby thinks I am crazy since he doesn't care about the lingerie(you know men, no clothes is cheaper and more fun to them LOL). But I love that I can wear this pretty stuff now. Although you are braver than me with the thongs! I wasn't sure they would be comfortable LOL!! Maybe I will feel differently after the butt lift!
I will pray for you about the seromas, hang in there, and keep having fun!

Hi Lisa. Seromas are an accumulation of fluid underneath the skin. It is common after thighplasty. First, it feels like a lump or bump. I developed these 3 weeks post-op in both thighs. My left thigh has resolved. My right thigh, I have 3 of them and the doc started treating them by aspirating the fluid out with a needle. A week ago he opened them up a bit and then on Saturday, he placed iodoform gauze into each one of them, to facilitate drainage. Then I had to pull out an inch of gauze every day. I'm on antibiotics too. My thigh feels like it has a tourniquet on it. I hate the pain and swelling. I think though I maybe turning the corner soon.
Going to Victoria's Secret and buying cute and sexy underwear helped get me out of my depression yesterday. It's been 8 weeks since my surgery and 5 weeks with seromas and I am so tired of it. Who would have thought underwear would be such a big mood elevator? LOL..
Thanks for asking. I hope you are doing well!
Hugs,
Lucy

Topic: Shopping at Victoria Secret!
Good morning! OMG, I couldn't believe it. Yesterday, I was shopping and went into Victoria Secret. I looked at bikini and thong underpants!!
I would have never thought that I would be looking in there and to actually purchase these items. There were so many cute ones; it's hard to make a final selection without wanting to buy out the entire store. I did purchase 3 pairs - all so cute and in time for Valentine's Day! I had been depressed all day long since I am recuperating from thigh surgery and developed seromas in my thigh. This shopping trip really perked me up and made me one happy camper
. Now I am into buying underwear. My collection continues to grow day by day. I also purchased similar items at Sears and even bought a Valentine's Day padded bra with hearts on it in a 34B with matching bikini underpants. All so
At 485 pounds I would have never conceived the notion of any of this. Me in a thong, no way! Now, the world is my oyster. I have so much time to make up. Even though I am in my early 50's, I feel like I am in my 20's. I am enjoying this so much. I am feeling sexier day by day
I went with a friend that I met from this website. I am so thankful to have met her in person at the annual Walk from Obesity in September and from that time on, our friendship has grown. She has been so supportive during my plastic surgery phase. I will treasure her friendship.
I love shopping! I'm going to need more space for my new collection .
Just wanted to share some happy moments here.
Hugs,
Lucy

Topic: RE: Scary moment and a warning!
Hi Monica~ I was thinking of you yesterday as I did my last prep walk...12.4 miles. All I can say is OUCH!!! I've been sick for about the last 3 weeks and haven't been able to train. I wasn't even sure that I would be able to participate. But, since I was able to finish the 12, 13 isn't that much more.
You must be sooo excited!! It looks like there's going to be a massive amount of people there!! I would love to hook up after, but it looks like our starting times are about an hour apart, and I'm guessing it will take me about 4 hours to complete it, so I know that you'll be done WAY before me!! I'm thrilled for you~ I did my first 5K last year about this time. It's going to feel amazing to go across that finish line!
Speaking of pics~ yours is great! You look like you're feeling good...
Congrats on all of your successes, my fellow Junebug!
Hugs,
Kerri

Thanks Kerri,
I really need the support right now. I am very stressed with surgery coming up and work is very stressful. I find myself wanting to eat all the crap under the sun!
I hope you feel better soon!
