Wendy, I am sorry that your surgery was canceled, but I am glad they are taking care of the issues. I probably need to start taking some iron. I havent been and I get worried that I will get too low. Hopefully all will go well and you can have it next month. Lynn

Hi Kerri! I have my second interviews on Thursday. So we'll see how it goes! I'm definitely in the running. Next week I'll find out more about my plastics . The date somewhat depends on the job situation. It will either be before I leave my present job (I'll only take a couple of days off) or a bit later in May when I'm at the new job (if I get it). Yeah, those darn last pounds. It's like I am fighting with my body to get there. My old self keeps coming out and being naughty. Today I am going cold turkey again! I will make it!!! Take care. I'm off to a meeting outside the hospital. I don't want to go out in this very cold weather Hugs, Lucy

Oh Wendy! I'm sorry to hear that your hemoglobin got so low and you had to cancel surgery. I would have opted out of it as well at this point. It's better to get your levels high enough - you need that to get through the surgery and for healing as well in your post-op recovery period. Well, you and I just might be having plastics around the same time. I will know more by next Wednesday. I'm going for my brachioplasty and breast reconstruction with implants. PS. I am going for my second interviews for the job on Thursday morning. Wish me luck. It does look good! Take care Wendy. I'll be praying for you! Love, Lucy

Wow, Wendy~ I'm shocked that your bloodwork was so low! I don't blame you for not wanting to have that type of surgery with ANYTHING wrong with your blood. Hopefully those infusions will fix the issue. Do they know what's causing it? Blessings to you, Kerri

Awwww, thanks Wendy!! I'm hoping that your iron issue is getting better. That can be pretty dangerous, huh? Spring is hopefully about ready to be sprung, so soon you'll be out there doing your own 5K or 10K. There's an awesome website called www.runningintheusa.com that you can look up your state and all of the events that are in your area. I always plan about 4-5 months out. Thanks for your ongoing support! Hugs, Kerri

Boy, Lucy, I don't think I would ever have thought of someone saying that I was an athlete at this point of my life...thanks for the compliment!! I'm not quite at my personal goal, yet. It's been about the same in weight...gaining and losing the same 3-4 lbs., just like everyone it seems. I have about 15 lbs. to make it to my personal goal of 150. That would be VERY cool, but if not, I'm perfectly happy with where I am. Would love to get some of this extra hanging skin off, I'm jealous of you for that reason!! Second round of plastics, WOW! Cool for you! How did the interview go? Did you get the new job? Hugs, Kerri

Thanks so much, Shelley...I forget about the intense weather in other parts of the country! I tell ya, it was below freezing a couple of weeks ago and I about froze my tail off! 5 degrees, yikes!! Hang in there, spring is coming, then you can do a race of your choice, too. The 5K's are awesome if you haven't done one before. Plus, you can just walk it with no running! Keep posting, we miss seeing you! Hugs, Kerri

I am ok with it though guys. My hemoglobin was only 10.5 today! I was scared to have that much extensive surgery with it so low. We are going to wait a month and the hemotologist is going to "tank me up". He said that I need to do the 8 hr. iron infusion two times in the next couple of weeks, plus shots of procrit, to raise my red blood cell count. He thinks this should do it for me and that next month I could do surgery. Well thanks for all your support and prayers and keep 'em up for me til next month! Wendy

Wow Monica! That is so great. I hope when the weather clears here, that I too can start a program. I would love to actually have a specific goal. All we have here for marathons that I know of is in the fall. It is a big one though that people from all over the world come too. It is called The Crim. Our bariatric support group trains to walk in it, maybe this year I could do it! Wendy
