Sorry to all on the Junie board, thought I posted this in the early A.M. but came to check in and apprently not, so lets try again...Today has dawned on a new day...Time to take stock of yesterday and work on changes for today...I have to say Friday is always my worst day, always very busy at the office (stress makes me think of snacking) and my dh and I always go out to dinner after our gym workout on Fridays, we split the meal but I usually eat poorer choices...Here goes... Morning 10 oz protein frappachino 10 oz hot tea sf pear & cranberry crumble 1 oz honey roasted cashews 16.5 oz water another sf pear & cranberry crumble (glad their gone now) Afternoon 1/2 toasted garlic bagel with 2 tbsp lf veggie cream cheese, sprouts & cucumbers 2.75 oz shaved london broil (put it on top of the 1/2 bagel) 1 sf russell stover peanutbutter medallion 16.5 oz crystal light 16.5 oz water 1 2" x2" slice thin crust pepperoni pizza Evening 7 prune bites 2 salt flats steak wraps ( steak, jalapeno ranch, tomatoes and onion wrapped in a romaine leaf) 5 french fries 1 protein ball Now looking back I can see my biggest issue was not getting enough to drink, think when I have liquid to keep my mouth and pouchie occupied I'm less likely to slip in a snack instead...How is everyone else

Sharon, I'm glad you checked-in! That makes perfect sense what you described with the garden hose. My stool is still like that too. Hmmmmm what you say about the children with an enema makes me think.... I was in a lot of pain...despite being on morephine. Then I had to drink a pitcher of crystal light with gastrograph stuff in it. I had to get the entire pitcher in me in less than an hour. By the time I was down to the last styrofoam cup of that stuff - I was beside myself - in the most severe pain - unconsolable. I never did finish that last cup. I was wheeled down to the MRI balled up and bawling the entire way. I didn't even see the faces of the people around me or talking to me. It was about an hour or so afterwards that the spasms and pain began to back off. I'm just wondering if having my bowels basically water loaded was enough to unkink me enough to get some relief. That really makes me wonder.... I'm really anxious to get this behind me. I'm down to a steady 2-3 on the pain scale. Bloated...but passing just enough stool I think to keep things toned down. I'm just hanging in until Monday. I WILL take your advice, though, and print out the info from WebMD just in case. Thanks, Sharon. Pam

Hey thanks for joining glad to see we Juners are still keeping up with each other, will keep posting daily and look forward to seeing you here...I got 3 requests for this recipe from people on the grad board too, its amazing how once you get past the early stages you forget some of the great recipies that got you through those first tough periods and also amazing that just remembering and going back to those same basics can really help get you back on track... Protein balls are a YUMMY way to get in protein...I often sub them for a meal since they are dense and 2 -3 are very satisfying...Also I really love peanut butter and these taste fantastic to me 1 cup any protein powder flavor ( I like chocolate best)( I use Elite) 1cup peanut butter 1 cup oatmeal ( not instant) 5 tbsp spenda zap the peanut butter in the micro to make workable, dump in other dry ingredients...mix it up with a spoon, until all the ingredients are wet... form into ball about the size of a walnut hint : if you have problems with it being moist enought to form the balls sprinkle a little tap water over the mixture and mix in, continuing until you have the right texture to make the ball ingredients stick together roll balls again in splenda or cocoa powder for a nice flavor dusting...put on a cookie sheet in the frig about 1 hour to allow balls to firm up for storage... Store in a baggy, bowl, tupperware, whatever in the frig... Can make a batch in about 20 minutes... usually get 24-28 balls stats : 113 cals, 7 protein,9 fat (darn pb tastes so good though), 5 carbs See you tomorrow, have a great food day... I want the recipe for the protein balls! Aren't those the peanut butter ones? I had cup of soup protein yogurt with rasberries a sandwich wrap( threw it up, cause it hurt my stomach) a protein pancake with strawberry fat free cream cheese sauce for dinner. 1/2 cup of low sugar low fat ice cream some leftovers from chilis (really naughty)not too much, just greasy. popcorn with butter(really really naughty) Lots of hot tea and water and some juice. I start out good everyday, it is in the evening when I get the munchies that I have trouble. Also my hormones drive me to wanting sugar and salt!! Some days I do better than others, today, I will probably do crappy cause I have an endoscope to check my stomach and cant eat or drink til after 3pm! I will be ravenous by then and want to chow my freakin' head off, LOL! Wendy

As promised, here I am making myself accountable to you guys...Hope someone out there is still checking this board and will join me...As I said in reply to Chip's post, I think we all are experiencing a little issue with getting a little out of control...Its become alot easier to think of ourselves as normal and that has allowed for a little "slippage" so to speak...I know I'm grazing a lot more and venturing into stuff that I would have said an unequivical NO to in the 1st year...Time to get back on track, we used to have these accountability posts and it'd helped keep me honest and reminded me what not to eat, because when I account to someone else I think twice about what I'm putting into my pouch...So if you are out there please join me...I will post the same on the Grad Board to see if I can pull in a few others from there to help make me accountable...Will post in the A.M. what I ate the previous day...Thanks, and hop on board the accountability train... Thursday 3/22 , in order eaten 16.5 oz water 2 protein balls 20 oz sf/ff starbucks cinnamon dolce latte 4 oz lf cottage cheese snack pack sf jello 16.5 oz crystal light 3-4 oz slice meatloaf with tomato sauce 1/2 cup peas-n-carrots 16.5 oz crystal light 16.5 oz water 10 oz sf protein hot chocolate 1 sf peanut butter wafer cookie 3 protein balls a bite of shaved roast beef 1 licorice jelly bean (it was calling me from across the room, LOL) 16.5 oz crystal light Man this looks like alot... Hi Pam. I am very happy with my reconstructive plastic surgeries so far. I've got the very best plastic surgeon and love him dearly. I don't have much left to do. I need some work on my face getting rid of the turkey waddle and not sure about the jowls. I do need to have nipple reconstruction on both breasts because I lost them when I had a breast reduction back in 2001. I would love to have a revision of my thighplasty to see if he could get a little more skin off high up in the inner thighs but am cautious because I did develop seromas with the thighplasty. Then that is it. No more plastics for me. It's definitely taken a toll on me physically, financially and psychologically. Time for me to rest! I just need to focus on my WLS upcoming 2 year anniversary. I want to lose a little more and have been slacking in that area. So I need to focus on my pouch and follow pouch rules. Easier said than done! The thighs is considered the hardest of all plastic surgeries. The most important thing is a good plastic surgeon who has done a number of them. I had my incision extended a few inches past the knee. Some surgeons do not want to do that, but I insisted since I had so much excess skin. I didn't care about a little more scarring at that point. They will tell you that they can't get all of it, and it's true. The compression garment is very important to keep the swelling down. I bought a longer leg garment at Walmart because of my extended incisions. That worked very well. My feet swelled up like elephant feet. I had to wear TED compression stockings 24/7 for some time to keep the swelling down. It worked. The seromas are a common occurrence after thighplasty. They are a collection of fluid around the incision site. I had 3 of them in my right leg and 2 of them in my left leg. I had to have them drained at least once a week. He aspirated the fluid out with a needle. My left leg resolved shortly, But I had problems with the right leg and he had to open up the incisions just where I had the seromas and inserted some idoform gauze to facililtate drainage. Eventually, the seromas went away. I am totally recuperated from my thighplasty. I do consider you a success story. I just feel bad for you that you've been going through this GI problem for so long . It's time for you to enjoy life and not be plagued by medical problems. I sure hope the docs get their act straight and resolve your situation. Keep us posted. Hugs and Love, Lucy

Pam, I haven't written in a long time and something told me to go onto the site tonight. I'm a nurse. Intussusception is a condition wherein a loop of small bowel folds over itself, causing the terrible pain you describe. It is a form of bowel obstruction. Think of a garden hose that's kinked, how thin the trickle of water becomes. That's why your stool is so narrow. Don't let them get away with dismissing this. If you have any more of that kind of severe pain, you get yourself to the ER or your doctor or SOMETHING and let them have it. With children, sometimes they give an enema, because the force of the water will unkink the loop of bowel. I haven't seen enough of these in the recent past to know how they are treating adults these days. (Haven't worked in the ER for about 5 years). Tell you what, check into: www.webmd.com Type in "intussusception". It gives a lot of information. I would print it out and take it to the ER if you have to. Good luck, Pam Sharon

I'm relieved to know that I don't have an obstruction. At least, it's not possible that I have a full obstruction - since I can still get things OUT. I guess I'll find out the real deal Monday. So far, I'm hanging in there pretty good. It's just a dull nuissance kind of pain now... sort of like someone kicked me in the gutt and back. I can deal with this. I don't EVER want to deal with what happened this past weekend - ever - again. I'm just crossing my fingers and saying a prayer that the real problem is revealed and fixed. Summer is coming, dammit, and I want to enjoy it!!! I will add a prayer for your friend on the NY boards. I hope everything goes very well and he/she is healed very quickly. Hugs, Pam
