Topic: Old problems creeping back @ 1 year anniversary!
Well, one year ago, I had lap rny! It has been wonderful!! I'm down to a size 12-14 from a 24-26 and 93 lbs. lost. However, in the last 6 weeks, I can definitely eat more. I have gained 8 lbs. in the last month. I decided to start tracking my calories--I was getting about 1650 calories per day. I went to a website to find out how many calories I need to maintain my weight. According to that, I need 2025 calories per day. After talking to a couple of doctors I work with, they stated that this surgery does NOT fix a slow metabolism, and I DEFINITELY have that! So, after tracking for a while, I think I need to stay under 1500 calories per day to lose weight. So, I'm actually writing everything down that I eat and counting calories. I'm down 2 lbs. since Sunday.
I never would have thought that this soon in the post-op period, I'd be dieting again! I'd like to lose at least 25-30 lbs. more and am not willing to accept that this is the weight at which I should be.
Anyone else having a similar experience? Any pearls of wisdom?
Becky

The weight you lost bounced to me. I've actually gained weight this month. You should be proud of yourself for not giving up. Now that we have reached the year mark the slow weightloss is incredibly frustrating and very scary. I'm happy that the scale started moving again for you - in the right direction.

Congratulations Ilyssay~ wow, 157!! Woo hoo!!! That just rocks! Boy, I would b e in deep trouble if I couldn't use my Splenda... I didn't know it could make you sick. Sorry to hear that it made your tummy uncomfortable. I know what you mean about trying to fight the food demons in our heads. It definitely has gotten harder recently.
You've done amazing, keep up the great work.
