Lisa, Thank goodness it's a small one. I really worried about you all night last night and wondered how you were doing this morning. Yes, that's an awsome surgeon to get you in that fast! I hear Nexium works very very well. Glad he prescribed that to you over the Prevacid - you got the best meds for it. Take care my friend. ((((hugs)))) Pam

WOW Lucy!! What a ride. I'm glad you made it through ok. 2 feet of bowel? Do you have any left? No I see why my surgeon was so adimat about me getting my hernia fixed since it's already incarcerated and won't go back in. I hope you have a speedy recovery!! Sharyn

Lisa, thanks for your well wishes and prayers. I am so tired all the time. I feel like the energy was zapped out of me. This surgery will be more difficult to get over than the lap gastric bypass. I hope that you will be feeling better soon and wishing you a speedy recovery as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hugs, Lucy

Lisa, I had a feeling that you had an ulcer but I didn't want to say anything until confirmed by your doc. Good thing you caught it while it was small and treatable. Take care and rest! Lots of hugs coming your way!!! {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}} Lucy

THANKS EVERYONE... YES PAM, I sort of new that the color i was vomitting was a bleed....and did get on the phone with the surgeon right away. THE good thing was all my nasuas eased and i stopped throwing up. SO he felt I could wait till next morning for an upper endoscopy done by him. OF course I was instructed that if i threw up more then the 3 times I had already done to phone him .......but thankfully nothing, I also didnt eat to be sure I didnt throw up i just did with a protein shake in the evening. BUT anyway as my surgeon suspected i have an ulcer. THROWING UP caused it to bleed yesterday yet it wasnt a big one and was healing so he put me on 8 weeks of nexium now. THANKS all for all your good thoughts and info

Topic: RE: HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN IN THE SAME BOAT LIKE ME??
Yes! I'm afraid we're in the same boat. I'm 13 months out and have lost a total of 100lb. and would like to lose 30more. I think the body starts to fight it at some point and it gets harder. I also know I need to work out more and watch what I'm eating closer. I just don't want the "Honeymoon Phase" to be over. I could do anything and still lose wt for the first twelve months. Doesn't seem that way anymore. We just have to push on and look at how far we've come since surgery and not beat ourselves up. Good luck to you. Kim K

Sharon, I had kidney stones years ago and I do know the feeling. This was different. I knew that something was radically wrong when my hernias protruded out of the abdomen and were so hard like rocks. Of course, I didn't want to admit it right away. I always try the... I'll go home and lie down and get some rest and it will go away. Haha... I wasn't fooling myself. Last night I was thinking that I have to be very careful because of the higher incidence of infection with this type of surgery. I don't want to be sick anymore. A set back would be depressing to say the least. Thank you for your response and prayers. I got to love my tiny little pouch now. I can't fill it up like I used to. We'll see how the weight goes. I'll be weighing in on Saturday. Take care! Lucy
