Topic: RE: HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN IN THE SAME BOAT LIKE ME??
Hi Dawn, I'll tell ya, trying to lose the last 40 pounds or so sometimes feels impossible. The one year honeymoon phase just wasn't long enough when starting out at such a large weight - 340 for me. I have been so incredibly lucky to have lost what I have so far considering that I don't exercise very often. The honeymoon is definitly over for me. I think people that go to the gym may weigh more but are able to wear smaller sizes and look better. I'm 5'5" and weigh 173. I'm still in a size 16 pants compared to others that are getting into 12's at the same weight. I really do think/know that exercise is the key so don't give up. It sounds like you are doing the right things. Dawn

Dawn, I couldn't have said it any better myself. I am going through exactly the same things you are. I think I have gotten bored with food and I am looking for something but not sure what it is. I have the hanging skin and want to say I am building muscle, but I dont see it either. I made an appointment with a plastic surgeon to get his view on how much he thinks is fat and how much is muscle. Hopefully he will have some good news for me. I still have 60lbs to loose but haven't lost a pound in over a month. I am really struggling with 191. I just can't seem to break into the 180's. Don't ever feel alone. There are many of us here that have not lost as fast as others and I think we do not post enough because we feel as if we are failing compared to the "fast loosers". We all need to post more and support each other more. HUGS~ Shelley

Hey guys! I am in Central US (St. Louis, MO)! You all can come visit me! But not right now. We have no power at home and are getting more storms here in about an hour. Just say a prayer for everyone in our area that this will not be as bad as the other night. They are calling for 90 mile an hour winds again. Mother nature's giving us a dose! See you all soon! Beverly I'm Ginger's friend I'm only 8 months post-op and began having problem early out (read my profile if you get a chance). Now, keep in mind that I have a history of endometriosis but the problems with excessive bleeding were new after WLS. I would love to speak with you directly or correspond via email. I will tell you that since my ablation...life is MUCH improved. Tanya -119

Awww thanks guys for all the love and support here! I will admit i proly had this ulcer for some time. I always seemed to have a problem when my pouch was empty i had an annoying feeling in it...feeding it always made if better...for that i always ate...mini meals and never had the discomfort. IM thinking this was the early signs of an ulcer. ITS seems clear to me now...a not to bad stomach virus is around as last night my son felt like he needed to vomit all day when i got home rom the scope he didnt look right to me finally at night he said that...so i am thinking that that vomitting caused the ULCER to bleed thus needed to be scoped SO honestly im thankful this was found now. AND maybe i can eat less now and loose the next 10 pounds i so badly want off! THANKS everyone for the support your all the best and i was pretty scared i knew the dark color was BLOOD in the vomit....but being it stopped made it a scheduled scope not an ER trip. AND of course the only one i wanted going down my throat was my surgeon. LISA

Sharyn, it was two inches not two feet of bowel. Thanks for your response. Things are getting better day by day. Lucy

Oh yes you did not have to be in the dark that long and worry even longer. I am sorry to hear this has happened but happy to hear the prognosis looks good. Look at it this way... maybe it is a forced diet opportunity to help with a lull? Will probably help you to ensure you are protecting your pouch even more than normal. Good Luck
