Hi Shelley. How are you doing? I hope your revision went well.

I haven't been here at all in so long and wanted to check in with my Junebug friends.

Hi Wendy. Congratulations on being able to be successful after so many years after RNY. I wrote my failures on another post if you wish to read.

I am happy to see several of our Junebugs here again. I really missed the support.

Bless you as well!

Hi Ginger. This is Lucy. I had my RNY on June 8, 2005.

First two years were great; then struggled a lot. Decided to have a band over bypass. Big mistake! I gained weight with the band. Every time I went out to a restaurant to eat I always had to go and throw up my food. I ate mostly soft foods. I had the band in 2008. I had gained about 110 pounds back from my lowest weight. I was so depressed and put on anti-depressant meds.

I had to come to terms with myself. I started to work out with a trainer and that helped. I made a decision to have a revision surgery - have the band removed and the RNY reversed. I had the DS procedure in late August 2010. I went to San Francisco for it and again it was a self-pay. I had Dr. Rabkin and he is the best.

I still struggle with carbs but at least I am about 50 pounds from my goal. I am happy with my choice of revision and wished I had the DS to start with. My life is still much better than when I initially had the RNY surgery. I am more active and enjoy the clothes I can wear and socializing with people.

WLS is definitely not an easy way out. My brain still needs adjusting to this new lifestyle. My old habits of many years still rears its ugly head.

Happy to hear from you!

I too have gained 50+ lbs, started my reset diet like I'm new post op, lost 2 lbs last week, hope to lose two more this week. I fixed some talipia and beef burgers put in frig to be easy to grap an ounce every three hours. I have another problem tho, I never drank alcohol before and I started making these vodka with 24 ounces diet koolaid drinks in the evening, I'm sure that's what put my weight on, gonna abstain from that habit in the evening. Wish me luck.

I know I am guilty of not coming on the website for a long time and not posting anything.  I was trying to live life, then going through complications, then going through more complications and now, going through complications again.  I won't go into details if no one is out there but if any of my beloved JuneBugs are still around and want to to catch up - I'd love to hear from you.

I am walking in your footsteps!! I am looking for the reset diet I saw a few years ago to help me lose at least 40 of the 60 I have put back on.  God didn't have be go through the surgery and the wonderful years of thinness for me to ruin it now! Damn the white foods!

As of Thursday, the 25th, I am 7 years out from surgery. I lost over 110 pounds and then 3 years ago I started to slowly gain it back. I am now on Weigh****chers and have lost another 37 pounds. For the first time in almost 30 years I am in "ONE"derland and I am able to shop in a regular store with no "X's" after the size. I have received lots of positive reinforcement from family and friends and am determined not to EVER weigh over 200 pounds again!! Betsy

I had my surgery June 1st 2005!! 7 years now! How is everyone doing! I have gained back some weight, but am still considered normal sized. I am lucky to be 6 foot tall!! LOL!! I want to get this weight back off, but am happy that I am not miserable anymore still after 7 years. I consider myself a successful weight loss surgery. I am still living a normal life. I hope everyone else is happy and doing well!! I could not have gotten through my surgery without the people here on OH at the time. I bless you all!
