Hi shelly Thanks for the reply. It sounds as if we are not the only ones having to get back on track ! How are you doing with trying to give up the pop? I have been doing good there, but I still would drink one right now if I had one in the house! I am working on giving up the dark chocolate now. I told my husband one thing at a time. :} I also have worked harder at gettting in the protien and water. It is so easy to fall back but so hard to pick up and go on from here. My e-mail address is [email protected] if you would like to e-mail me direct. I tried to find some of the people from My dr. page and I am the only one listed there for the date. I wish I could find some of them,. I have ran into one man and he has lost to much! go figuer...But he is looking good and has now been maintaning, which is a good thing. Hope to heard from you again. Sandy

Tamey, I had RNY 6/7/05. I know sucessful lab band people and not so successful lap band people. I think that you must be more dilligent than with RNY. Lab band weight comes off more slowly over more time.... You probably cannot believe what you have probably been told... but your experience post surgery is not that common. Thankfully, you are doing well now. I, too, have a new grand daughter and am so happy to see her and hold her. Take care, Steve K 260/205

I am still doing well, down over 160 lbs. Last week my MD check up came back with perfect labs, no meds at all, no diabetes, no high cholestrol, no hypertension, no sleep apnia, reduced arthritus. Which has caused increased golf with no cart, feeling better about myself, buying clothes, more energy, everything is good - the best thing I ever did for myself. I go to support group once a month and speak to people considering surgical intervention monthly, too. Both groups are invigerating... Leaving for Italy and Spain mid month! I can sooo relate to you Lucy. I did the dating thing for a while and I must say it's not the best out there! I find it very interesting that you were able to have a band after surgery. I would love to see if I could have it done as well. I am going to have to check into that! Hugs, Shelley

OMG, Pam what a nightmare! I am so sorry that you had to experience that. Finally, though you have your answer and have been treated. I hope that you have a speedy recovery and no complications. It sure must have been scary though. Thank goodness that you got to the right hospital for treatment. Keep us posted and I'll check in to see how you are doing. Hugs, Lucy

Well, it's been a bad year for me. I've regained 90 pounds through no one else's fault but my own. I started grazing and eating too much at meals. I've tried the seeing the nutritionist route... no help for me. I know what I should be eating. I had a lap band put in on May 15th as recommended by my surgeon and will have my first fill on Thursday. He feels that will give me back my restriction and I'm so ready! I plan on making this year the best. I've learned from this costly and emotional mistake and will be diligent from now on. I focused so much on my plastic surgeries and dating. Dating turned out to be a downer for me, so I am giving it up for now. The men I have met were not very nice to me and I'm just too tired to work so hard at this point. I need to focus on me and my health! Next year at this time, I will be at my goal and stay there! That is my solemn vow. Hugs, Lucy
