Good morning Kerri! I just finished posting on your topic! CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU MY DEAR FRIEND! Maybe one day I will be at least partially successful as you in a half marathon. I really need your prayers that soon I will find someone to share the rest of my life with. I'm so tired of being alone. Now with facing plastic surgery in 50 days I don't think it would be a good time to start a relationship. I'm on eHarmony and have some bites, but I'm a bit scared after my first attempt. I was so close and actually was going to meet this person and then BAM, my hernia strangulated. He was a widow of not nearly a year and a clinical psychologist. At first he was supportive of me when I was in the hospital the first time. After I came home from the 2nd hospitalization, I emailed him and for a few days I had no response. So I emailed him again through eHarmony and then he finally called me. His wife died of cancer so he went through a lot with her illness. Anyhow, he first asked me how I was doing and then he told me that he had to stop our relationship as he was seeing someone else and didn't think it was ethical to have two relationships. Well I was OK with that, but then he said that maybe it was too early for him to have a relationship since his wife passed away in the past year. Well that didn't make any sense to me. I was stunned and speechless. Before this, he was so attentive, calling me, sending me flowers in the hospital and couldn't wait for our first date. So you can get a sense of how I felt. It broke my heart. We really hit it off and then this happened. That is why I am scared at this point. I don't want to get hurt this way again. So that's my story. Thanks for your congratulatory words! Love and Hugs, Lucy

Good morning Kerri! I am so proud of you and for you I checked your profile and new pictures from the half marathon and all I can say is WOW!!! You look so happy and beautiful. You have a glow that emenates the inside. I am in awe of your achievement. 14 miles is no picnic! To have your parents there to see you coming towards and getting through the finish line, well there are no words! I'm speechless. You must be so proud of yourself and of course, exhausted! I get tired when doing a 5K, I can't imagine what you went through. Did you have any bathroom breaks or go straight through? I would imagine that any water you drank was evaporated in sweat so maybe you didn't need the bathroom. I also liked your comparison pics from the day of surgery to present. That tells the story! You go girl! I'm not knowledgeable about photobucket. Maybe someone else is. Love your profile too! All your training really paid off! CONGRATULATIONS MY FRIEND! Hugs and Love, Lucy

Topic: I DID IT!!!!!!
Hi all of my fellow Junebugs~ Thanks to everyone who supported me, sent positive thoughts and prayers! I completed my first 1/2 marathon yesterday! This Rock 'n Roll race truly rocked!! Thank goodness since my ipod died after the first mile! The race clock said I did it in 3:31, but my chip time was 3:22~ yee haw!! I was so blessed to have my mom and dad there to see me go across the finish line. They were pretty proud. My nephew ran it in 2:01~ I think I have him hooked now. And thank goodness, the race course was almost completely flat! It was a great race! To any of you who are thinking of participating in a 5K walk/run, 10K walk or run, or train up to a 1/2 marathon or marathon, all I can say is ~ you rock!!! You can do it!! What an absolutely amazing feeling it was to cross that finish line! I was not so sure around mile 12 if I could do it~ I was having issues of dehydration, but it was soooo worth it! No matter what you're doing to keep your bodies moving, you're doing great. It will totally pay off for ya! I posted a few pics at the bottom of my profile if anyone wants to see. Someone has to tell me how to do a link to photobucket... I didn't know how to put the album on. Blessings to all of you! Kerri ~ a little slower today

Besides it is pics like these that make me see just how far I have come! I don't always realize what point I am at til I see myself from a different point of veiw. Wendy

Hi Wendy! Those are great shots! I never thought about doing anything like that. You are a brave woman! Gotta love those dog shots with their Halloween costumes. So cute! I had a bra just like that before my breast reduction in 2001! Thanks for making my afternoon. I'm checking out the posts while drinking a delicious cup of coffee flavored with Chocolate Caramel creamer from International Delight. YUM! It's moments like this that I truly enjoy sharing with you! Hugs, Lucy

Hi Deloris. Thanks for the numerous cool's, sexy smiles and claps of applause. I'd be surprised if I was one to keep losing weight. That would be a shock to me, as I have been so obese all my life and gain very easily. I am on top of this world! Thanks again, Lucy
