10K and new pics...
Kerri,
First of all, congratulations on walking your first 10K. That is pretty amazing!!! I can't even imagine doing it myself. I think just half would kill me. Ha! I am proud of you!!!
Your new pictures really show off your weightloss. You look great and are an inspiration to me. I truly wish you the best and I just know that you will make your goal this week.
Dawn
Hi Dawn~ Great new picture!!!! You look fabulous!! I did enjoy doing the 10k although I'm pretty sore today~more than I thought I would be. Maybe it was the 4 hour drive home after the race that caused me to stiffen up some. You could totally do it! I know you could. Believe me~ barring an injury or heart issue, if I could do this, anyone could!!
Thanks for the encouragement about the weight. I sure hope that it comes off sometime this week. I'm beyond frustrated! But, I just know that eventually it will have to!!! You are doing great~ I think I saw in one of your posts that you are into the 180's!!!! I'm so excited for you! How awesome is that? Have you decided on what your final goal will be? The things you are doing must still be working for ya!
Keep up the great work!
Hugs,
Kerri
WOW Kerri!! I'm so proud of you!!! I knew you could do it! You have such strength and perserverance!!
Oh, that reminds me - I saw you said there might be something spirtual about that one pound ~ how about this:
"They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." -- Isaiah 40:31
AND YOU HAVE!!! And we can all see it!! So YOU are a mighty example of God's great work!! There is no higher honor and he will reward you. So now breathe a sigh of thanks and feel relieved in your faith. It will come. And I pray this for you now. (((hugs)))
I absolutely LOVE the tulip picture! And the others too....you are making an amazing transformation. Hang in there!
Hugs,
Pam
Pam~ Thank you soooo much for your encouragement and words of inspiration. I love that passage in Isaiah! It has been a tough few weeks with my weight. But, I do believe it will come...off, that is! I just got back from swimming at the gym. It helped with the stress.
Your story has been an inspiration to me as well. How are you feeling now that you are a little more out from your surgery? You need to post an update so that everyone can be informed. We were all praying for ya BIG TIME!! And. thanks for your courage to post the pics. It helped me alot, and I'm sure others as well who are/will be considering PS.
Hugs,
Kerri
Thanks so much for the encouragement Deloris. I am pretty happy that I finished!! Still no loss on that one lb., but I have faith that someday it will come off.
By the way, have you submitted a new pic for your board pic? You are so beautiful, this old one just doesn't do you justice anymore! Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Kerri
Kerri,
Congrats on the 10K! That is great! I took a look at your pictures. You look wonderful. You look really good in red! Red is your color!
I think that doing something like this gives you such a sense of confidence. It is undescribable.
In 2002, I partipated in the 3-Day 60 mile walk for Breast Cancer. I did this as a way to celebrate myself. I had started OptiFast in 2001 weighing in at 262 (my highest weight ever). When I did the walk, I weighed in at 195. I had lost 67 pounds on OptiFast.
When I did this walk, I cried the entire last mile. They were tears of joy! I find that once you do something like this you are moved and if forever changes the fabric of who you are inside. I remember thinking---if I can walk this 60 miles---(20 miles a day for 3 days) I can do anything.
This is what gave me the confidcence to incorporate fitness into my life forever. I have gone on to do another Avon Breast Cancer walk as well as in 2004 I ran the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon.
Now, I am into my biking and I set goals each year to surpass what I have done the year before. Last year, I did a 68 mile bike ride. This year---I am hoping to do 100 miles on the bike.
Walking that 10K will forever change the way that you feel about yourself. Now....there will be no stopping you! You are on your way to the next challenge, and the weight will just be lifted from you naturally. Not to mention---your health will continue to improve greatly!
Great job Kerri!
Wow Diana! To do something like that 60 mile walk is unbelievable!!! What an amazing accomplishment! And now, your biking! Excellent job. I'm too wimpy right now to ride~ at least my fanny is. So, I'll stick with the walking, racquetball and now golfing. Keep us updated on your biking journey. I would love to hear all about it and celebrate with you! I did get a little teary-eyed as I was walking to the finish line. I am so grateful that I have this opportunity to regain my life back.
Thanks for the encouragement. I do like red~ it makes me feel strong! I hope you're right about the weight being lifted off, because right now it just feels settled in. On the other hand, I wore a pair of capris for the first time in ages. Very fun!!
Hugs,
Kerri
OK, Kerri! Now I'm jealous that you were able to walk a 10K. OMG!!! I was only able to do a 5K. What motivation you have!!!
You will definitely get into ONEderland very soon. Maybe as I am writing this response, you are already there! I will join you shortly.
You look so beautiful Kerri! Keep that smile coming.
Hugs,
Lucy
