Plateau buster diet Rocks!
Hi guys,
I started doing the plateau buster diet on Monday because I was getting frustrated with my slow loss(only 4 lbs for April) so anyway I thought that I would give it a shot.
Well since Monday I have lost 6.5lbs Yea!!!!!. I was 163.5 this morning. Hooray! I am hoping to get to 160 before it is done. Then I will start adding some good carbs back in. The only drawback is that I am really struggling with constipation on this diet. 145 grams of protein and 15 carbs is a receipe for a bad bathroom experience. LOL
Just wanted to share my good news Hope all is well with my fellow Junies, its almost our rebirthday!! I am still planning my party, I cant wait.

Here it is ,
I have been having a hard boiled egg or a beef jerky in the am and then some egg and cheese or today I had tuna and cheese for breakfast. For lunch I have had deli chicken and roast beef and yesterday I had a ground sirloin burger. Probably the same today and for dinner it has been chicken, chicken and more chicken. Plus my protein shakes. I hope this helps. I am going to try adding in some broccoli and caluflower this weekend. I am physced (excuse the spelling) about the quick weight loss. I am having my basil metobolic rate tested tomorrow so that will give me an idea of where my calories need to be to loss the rest and maintain. Good luck

There is a nutritionist at my gym that does it. You breathe into this machine for 15 minutes and then they calculate the amount of activity that you do in a normal day and it calculates your resting metabolic rate. My surgeon talked about it at our support group meeting. I thought it would be really helpful to know now that I am getting so close to goal. I want to know how much I can eat in any given day and not gain. Plus if it is really low, I need to start some serious strength training to up my metabolism. If you are interested check with your surgeon and see if his office or your nut has the machine to do it. It will cost me 70 dollars but to me its worth it.

Good for you!! Like I mentioned in the other thread, low carbing is a good way to get quick results. It is very motivating to be able to see the scale move so quickly (over a pound a day, WooooHoooo!!).
Just a couple of notes from a low carb veteran: First, I am not sure why/how, but low carbing has a tendency to cause you to dehydrate. This is contributing to the problem with the constipation. Make sure you are getting all of your fluids in. Make sure your supliments have plenty of sodium and potassium (lost when dehydrating) or you might also get muscle cramps. You might notice that your breath, urine, and sweat have a strong smell (from ketones...this is normal and no cause for alarm). Also, when you start to add carbs back to your diet you might gain a pound or two back as your body re-hydrates ( I'm just the messenger ).
