Very Good Day

I have been trying to avoid the scale the last couple of months as my weightloss is starting to slow, but my wife (who is now getting motivated to drop a few pounds) left her scale out in the bathroom so I had to check. First off she has a little digital scale that I have never been able to use before, so it was kind of cool to be able to use a regular scale (not my oversized "fat boy" scale). Then when I checked my weight it was 264.4 (I started at 465). So I have past the 200 lbs lost mark. I am kind of freaked out. I can not even imagine carrying around an extra 200 lbs all day. I still have 30 or 40 to go, but I am feeling much more motivated now, and feel like I am in the home stretch.

BTW - I took a peek at your latest profile update and you are looking pretty hot in that pink dress . If you still have weight to loose, you sure can not see it in that picture. Congratulations!!

Thanks Jim!! According to the weight charts I still have about 13 more pounds to go. I'm trying for a big push before my year anniversary to reach my "ideal" body weight of 134. Even if I don't/can't maintain it, I think it would be awesome to say I made it!! Cindy

Having been someone who used to be thin (back in the '80s) when I was in highschool and then the Army, I was never able to get my weight down to the "ideal" body weight according to the charts even when my body fat percentage (pinch tests) were around 12%. My chart weight had me in the 180 - 190 range, but I have been over 200 lbs since 10th grade. Anyway, I can not believe that anyone could look at your most recent pictures and say that you still need to loose another 13 pounds. You've "made it" in my book!!

You are so encouraging! We'll see what happens, perhaps I'll never make it and that will be ok in my book too! C

Congratulations, Jim you have done an awesome job. I know what you mean about the home stretch. I am there also. I have another 15 or 20 lbs for my personal goal. I am doing the plateau buster this week to jump start it a little. So far so good I lost 2lbs since yesterday. Lynn

I've seen a couple of different ones. Which one are you doing? The plateau buster that I have been doing lately is just not looking at the scale. So far, when I wait a week or two between weigh-ins I find that I am still loosing. However if that stops working, I will need a better plan

Ah! Looks a lot like the Atkins induction diet (with a lot of water, and no bacon ). Of all the diets I have done (pre-op), Atkins was the best to get quick results (without starving). The extra water sounds like a really good idea as I used to always get dehydrated when I would do the Atkins induction. Cutting out the carbs should definetly get you kick started. Good Luck!
