Had to go to the E.R. today

Today was kind of a rough day. A lot more pain and swelling as the day went on...a gain of 12 pounds. My tummy, which usually hangs, was buldging waaaaayyyyy out to the point my belly button was almost inside out. Then it dawned on me.... They pumped me with two BIG bags of i.v. fluids before I left the hospital...but I never peed. Then i came home and drank and drank....and barely peed...same thing today - I took in over 100 ounces of fluids but barely peed. So I called the surgeon and he sent me to the E.R. to get a catheter put in. I have to keep that until at least Wednesday. I've had catheter's before and they didn't hurt - but this one is awful. I cried my ever livin' eyes out. They got 800 cc's out of it by the time I left the hospital. I live 10 minutes from the hospital and by the time I got home, there was 300 more cc's in there....and it's still not done. I'll be so glad to get these next few days over with! Decided today that I would go ahead and take the valium. Maybe it wil *relax* the bladder into working properly! Hugs, pam
