10 months today...
Hi all! Boy, I missed you guys last week. I was at my parents for 8 days of R & R. After 3 weeks of having only lost 2 lbs. total, the scales finally started to move again. I lost 5 lbs. while up there~ eating more than I normally do. Hmmm.... I went up there for Christmas and lost 8 lbs. eating more than I normally do. Hmmm...I seem to see a pattern here!!! Guess what? I'm going to try to eat a little more while keeping small portions. Maybe my body has been in starvation mode, which I know Monica had posted about a little while ago.
I am almost to Onederland~ 202 as of this morning. I reaaaaaally thought I would have broken it by now, but my body just hasn't cooperated. That's okay. I went and played golf with my dad two times, walked on the treadmill one day, and then walked about 4 miles on railroad tracks with my dad to a small general store out in the country. I hadn't done that in about 14 years! I did a lot with Mom, too, but she wasn't up for a lot of exercise due to health issues. Today, I just got back from walking 6.2 miles (equal to a 10K) with my hubby. I'm planning on walking in my first 10K race on May 6th...hopefully I will complete it!
Sorry this is so long, but I just wanted to share my joy with all of you, and tell you all how well you guys are doing. I'm soooo proud to be a Junebug. I couldn't post while up there, but I was able to read the board every few days. I proud of all of us and want to encourage everyone to hang in there through the tough times. Congratulations to all of you who are at goal...you rock!!! And for those of us who still have a ways to go, we are doing awesome, too!
Have a great evening,
Kerri
Happy Anniversary Kerri!!
I am so happy to hear how active you are!! I can't wait to get the go ahead from the cardiologist to get movin'!! I am so pent up it is driving me crazy!! It was beautiful last week and I wanted to ride my bike so bad!
Good luck in the race in May, I hope you come in first!!
Hey you should get a T-shirt that say's Junies Rock! on it, LOL!!

Wendy
Thanks so much Wendy!!! I hope that your cardiologist will give you the thumbs up signal soon. It makes you feel so much better~ and I used to absolutely HATE exercising!
As for the race, I'm just out to walk it and fini****that's my goal. I like your idea of Junies Rock, though!
I appreciate your encouragement!!! Keep up your great work!
Hugs,
Kerri
Welcome back Kerri!
Glad you had a good visit. You are doing great with the walking!
You know, I started eating more about two months ago - keeping small portions but eating 6 times a day. BLAM I dropped 9 pounds in March and 6 pounds so far in April and I'm very close to goal. It really surprised me!! I think maybe I was starvation mode too and just didn't realize it. I also added in more carbs. I eat a banana almost every day or mandarin oranges in sugar free cool whip. Go figure!
You are doing great! I think you are onto something with adding in a little more food. I bet you break that goal in NO TIME AT ALL!
Hugs,
Pam
Thanks Pam! WOW, I can't believe that you dropped so much in the last 2 months when you're so close to your goal!!! That's !!!! I think I might try the banana idea. I think I actually do a little better with some natural sugar.
As for my goal, 200.4 this a.m., but it's my T.O.M. so we'll see what happens. You will see me shouting from the mountaintops when I finally go under. It's been sooo hard to get there! But from 358, not too bad for now.
I am thinking and praying for you for Friday. We'll be waiting to hear how you're doing as soon as you're feeling up to it!
Blessings,
Kerri
Kerri you are doing great! 10K, that is awesome. I am doing a 5K on May 6 too! I would have never thought of it a year ago. There would have been no way! I am so excited.
202....you are almost there! Up that protein and water and I bet by the end of the week, you will be in ONDERLAND! There are some of us that just loose slower than others and you know what that means? Our skin will be less flabby than those that are loosing fast! Our skin has more of a chance to shrink more!
Keep up all the hard work and have a great week!
Shelley
Hi Shelley~ Thanks so much!! I can't wait for you to do your 5k. How funny that it's the same day! Will this be you your first walk? Are you going to try to jog any of it? That's absolutely OUT for me...this girl doesn't run!!! But, you're right...who would have believed a year ago that we could have done it. Take lots of pics!!!! I would love to see one posted on your profile. I posted one from my first 5k, it brings a smile to my face every time I see it!
I hope you're right about our skin shrinking more slowly, because with all of the sags and bags, I would have hated to have seen what it might have been! I'm hoping this week will be THE WEEK. We shall see...
Congratulations for everything you have accomplished. Let me know how the walk goes. I can't wait to hear!!!
Hugs,
Kerri
