a little thought

Hi everyone! I don't often post my own original post, but over the past few weeks I have noticed something that I thought I might be able to help with. It is mostly geared to the woman, but here goes... A lot of female posts have been noticing some fluctuating weight issues here and there. Someone brought up the water weight issue, which I am sure is what it is most of the time, as well as some of the cravings coming back. Well for those of us who are not through menapause yet I think what is happening is the normal weight fluctuation that we have always had, but when overweight paid little attention to it. The reason I say this is that right after surgery I did have a cycle for several months in a row which I was not doing prior. During that time I would not lose and sometimes noticed a pound gain, then I got back to my once in a blue moon cycle. I went four + months without one, this month here it came, along with a stall in the loss and little more water weight. Which magically left after about a week. Then the flashback came of life prior to my 13 year old when I was thin, and the lightbulb went off! For many of us who either never weighed, or stopped weighing on a regular basis when heavier we lost track of it. So I guess what I am saying is to try not to beat yourself up over it. Chart the timing a bit to help keep you in check as to what is going on and try to keep the fluids going to help not retain water weight from bad food chioces during that time. I remember in my younger years putting on up to 5 pounds during that time. You have all done so well and I want to thank you all for all your posts that have helped answer my questions, let me know I am not alone, and given me strength when I was feeling frustrated! This is the greatest bunch of "losers" and am thrilled to be one of the bunch! Gayle

Gayle- you are very right. I went about 5 months with nothing, and suddenly about a month ago it hit- hard. I have never been normal in this area, and I went to the doctor about it, *****ferred me to a different gynecologist, etc. (long story) but basically I can't stop eating sweets right now!!! I just polished off a big old rice krispie bar. Hopefully the new gynocologist will be able to come up with a solution to this, so I can quit craving so much, retaining so much water, etc. And get back to a normal routine- Because once again, my loss has come to a halt.
